We should trade our unprotected 2019 1st round pick as soon as possible before the rest of the league realize that it is actually just 20-25 late pick. And we should use it to dump Faried and Arthur which would be enough to buy on FA market good SF and backup-guard. Players like Tyreke Evans can be both (we have Barton in the past).

Still need a vet PG and a vet SF (if MPJ isn’t 100% I’d rather redshirt him than risk anything)

I assume Vanderbilt will be a 2 way player. Barton should be gone for sure now.

Without knowing where Porter stands (no pun intended) here's how I think we'll start off the season

Jokic - Plumlee - Arthur(PF)
Millsap - Lyles - Faried - Lydon
Juancho - Porter - Craig
Harris - Beasley
Murray - Morris

We should add one more wing, perhaps Barton does get re-signed.

Agreed and you know I love the guard situation (with at least one minimum salary vet added).
I even like the forward rotations except for having too many PFs, but we can live with that.
The center slot isn't too bad either except we need a third center IMO.

I'm fairly happy - if Malone actually uses those players. He said last year he wanted a nine man rotation. That's an old school approach. I need to look at stats but I think 10-11 man rotations are more common these days (especially when adding "rest days").

So, what does his nine man rotation look like?

Jokic & Plumlee
Millsap & Lyles
Hernangomez & Craig
Harris & Beasley
Murray

We need a backup combo Guard or PG, Morris looked good, but with such a young starting PG you cannot have a guy who is basically a rookie as your only backup PG.

We still have to much depth so some guys are going to have to be traded at some point.

Teodosić is that guy for backup PG. Clippers don't want him, probably will buyout his contract for 2.1m and we can sign him for cheap to play with Jokić.

It looks like we have 13 roster spots taken (counting Porter). Do Craig & Morris make the roster? Vanderbilt and Welsh on 2-ways?
1. Jokic
2. Plumlee
3. Arthur
4. Millsap
5. Lyles
6. Faried
7. Lydon
8. Juancho
9. Chandler
10. Harris
11. Beasley
12. Murray
13. Porter
14.
15.
2-ways:
16.
17.

1. Jokic
2. Plumlee
3. Arthur - Should be a medical waiver IMO
4. Millsap
5. Lyles
6. Faried - Respect him and trade him for a stashed player
7. Lydon
8. Juancho
9. Chandler - trade him for a 2020 2nd
10. Harris
11. Beasley
12. Murray
13. Porter
14. Craig as you suggested
15. Morris as you suggested
2-ways:
16. Vanderbilt as you suggested
17. Welsh as you suggested

My take on your list is added in whatever color this is.

If we can eliminate Arthur or Faried or Chandler, we can surely use a veteran guard at a minimum salary. There are plenty of those available and he doesn't have to be more than a 15 mpg/emergency 25 mpg guy.

1. Jokic
2. Plumlee
3. Barton
4. Millsap
5. Lyles
6. Faried
7. Lydon
8. Juancho
9. Chandler
10. Harris
11. Beasley
12. Murray
13. Porter
14. Arthur
15.
2-ways:
16.
17.

We need to clear some roster spots for Craig and a backup PG (maybe Morris). I could see either a 2 for 1 trade or a salary dump.

Welch just signed a two-way contract today, mark it down fellas. I'm a tad bit surprised, thought they'd wait until SL at least but apparently they have some confidence in the big guy.

Nuggets website indicates he's on a make-good for the Summer League. Can't find anything else saying he's already signed.

Quick Twitter search brought this up. I thought for sure that he was only on a 1 year deal even at the end of the season, but I have seen it buried in some articles that I could dig up if need be and Mcbride is usually pretty reliable.

With the Chandler trade, a roster spot just opened up for Torrey Craig (?) or a backup PG....
