I really think Payton and Ulis can bring something to the table. I hope we don't just kick them to the curb.

We at least better make Oboko TAKE Ulis' spot in training camp. Let's not forget when Ulis was healthy, he played quite well. If Oboko outplays him...then so be it. Oboko does have a higher ceiling. But he needs to earn it.

Payton is an excellent passer and could get to the rim quite well. Now that he cut his hair, I'm curious to see if his outside shot comes along. I'd hate to give up on him too early.

Chriss has the same potential that JJJ has. I wish he had his head right. But again, it would be a mistake to give up on him too early. We need someone like a Kobe to get in his face.

TJ with a 3 point shot has allstar potential. Plus I still love his demeanor.

I'm still most skeptical on Knight. I just don't see him changing his style of play. He's never been a good passer. I've never seen him complete a tough pass in traffic. His shot is notoriously streaky. Last buy not least, his ACL injury will make him less explosive which means lateral movement on defense and penetration on offense could suffer. I just don't see him overcoming all these obstacles. I hope I'm wrong, but... we will see.

As far as I am concerned, unless your last name is Booker, Jackson, Ayton or Bridges (because of the price paid to get him) - anybody and everybody are open for business.

Sauce is a great teammate and a good guy and is pretty cheap. He also is a great trade chip for the next 8 days because a team the Suns trade too only need to attach 10m (Dudley?) with Sauce to a team sending the Suns a 15m per year player - and the team instantly saves 5.5m of cash if they are trying to rebuild. Its a wicked business but those non guaranteed deals have value

I am not cutting Sauce for cap space that you don't use. I am releasing him if they have a better use of that 5.5m. AS for Ulis, with potentially Canaan for the minimum, plus Okobo, and Shaq - his 1.5m is a luxury to me. I want the cap space before - if he wants to come back cheaper - that's fine

I am fine keeping Chriss, Warren and Bender to see if they get better if the deal doesn't materialize. I think a couple things though - the Suns just do not have the space for all these players - something has to give. And for them to start winning games - the talent in the locker room needs to be upgraded. So, this could be tough decisions.

People already think we might have given up too much for Bridges - to keep Sauce - are you willing to add an asset to Chandler to give him up to.

What about a deal like Dudley and Williams for Schroder?

I actually was hoping for somebody else - not Schroeder but that is the exact type of trade. A team gets an expiring contract, can waive Williams if they choose to save cash - and the Suns get a player on a contract for multiple years. I am personally, just not a fan of Schroeder.

Schroder is still better than any other PG on this roster currently, regardless of your opinion of him as a person

when i said "personally" - i didn't mean Schroeders personality - I went my personal opinion - he is not my favorite based on his shooting and defense. but you are correct - he would be better than anybody on the roster

Isn't that kind of like saying the same thing about Dwight Howard? And why he's bounced around teams the past 5 years? The type of person you are completely matters when it comes to evaluating how 'good' the player is. At least to some extent.

EDIT: Or hell, even the Morris Bros!!

Pass.

Is like some people forgot that Payton can ball. It was clear as day that they told him to tone it down because the team was in tank mode. He was straight balling when he came here

Would it be possible to pry Fultz away in a trade..? If so, would we even want to do that?

I still like Payton. We should retain him especially that he should come cheap. A good passer and a decent defender when motivated. Plus if Igor could somewhat improve Rubio's shooting the same can be done for Payton. Hell, I'd give Knight a good try before signing Schroder. The guy is a moron.

I agree would rather sign Payton to a two year 12 mil contract. Feel his numbers will be similar to Schroder last year. Personally I would use knight as a Jamal Crawford type off the bench. Of course the problem is it doesn’t solve the log jam we have. We need a two or 3 for 1 preferably at the PF just don’t see many players at that position worth a deal, not a big Gordon fan.

Oh, my bad, I didn't know you wanted a ground and pound the ball PG at every position.............

Never said I wanted a ground and pound PG at every position, but maybe someone else who can handle the rock on the court other than Booker would help?

Look, ideally he develops into James Harden, but he’s not there yet. And even James Harden has Paul and Gordon to take some weight off him.

I’m fine with a Booker-Bridges-Jackson-Bender-Ayton lineup for 5-10 mins or so a night, but you want Booker at the 2. That’s where he’s best at.

I want Booker Jackson Bridges Ayton and Bender on the court together mostly. I do like Gambo's anticipated lineup, but I don't like JJ at the 4, although Marion killed it there for years. Do you like

Knight
Booker
Bridges
JJ
Ayton

better? You have three ball handlers.

Nah... Payton can't shoot. I don't want him on the team.

Okobo
Daniels
TJ
Bender

that's four scoring types. Knight can help space the floor, Payton can't. Knight can play off Booker and Jackson, Payton can't.

Give them Warren, Bender, Ulis, Milwaukee and Suns 2019 pick just for the sake of trolling Philadelphia

I think that is way too much for Dragic -- I think Dudley Williams and the Bucks would be a good return

Schroder is not good and him being an **** is just the cherry on top of why not to get him. There's a reason Atlanta just drafted his replacement despite him fitting their timeline.

it definitely is way too much

it was a joke, referencing to helping Miami being good as possible by 2021 lowering the chances of Philadelphia getting a good pick

Yep - TJ really appears to be the odd man out. He might bring something in return.

If Lebron and company want to go to the Lakers, I would consider trading Warren to the Lakers as part of a deal to get our hands on Lonzo Ball. If we have to take on Deng so be it. I know a lot of you are not in love with Lonzo but he surely seems like his game would be ideal for our roster. His age, size and skill set fit like a glove. The only real issue I have is his father. I expect it is a pipe dream anyway. The Lakers would be fools to dump him.
