Over the guy who scored 35 vs the timberwolves less than a month returning from an acl and went toe to toe with jimmy butler scoring the bulls last 15 points of the game.

Look lavine needs to improve some things but judging him so harshly in 24 games in from a serious injury and in a contract year is ridiculous and unfair to him.

You have a young athletic player who can shoot and get his own shot and bulls fans hate him

The concern with LaVine is his basketball IQ. It was scary-bad last year.

Hopefully that improves as he gets more acclimated to things.

I agree, but it's reasonable that a yr off recovering from ACL surgery and playing in a new environment with new teammates can do that to someone. He was pretty sick in Minnestota. Not a high BBIQ guy, but adequate

If that is actually true, no way in hell Bulls match a large offer for LaVine.

I am stoked for this offense.

I'm in the minority but I don't think the FO wants to lose LaVine for nothing. They've said, repeatedly, that he was the centerpiece of the deal.

GarPax said they have a solid relationship with his agent and they are going to sit down and start discussing his contract next week. Of course, they aren't going to offer him the max and his agent is going to go out and find the best deal possible for his client. From there, it's up to us if we want to match.

Why on Earth we would want to acquire this recently-turned-23-year-old-kid, watch him shoot over 40% from 3 for the first two months he played for us before fatigue kicked in, and then refuse to match a contract another team offers is beyond me. Is some team in the Western Conference stupid enough to offer this kid the max? He's coming off a torn ACL and played in 24 games last year... I'll be stunned if another team blows him away with an offer that we don't match.

I can see the Kings making him an offer honestly.

I wouldn’t care, there’s some players in this free agency that can fill his spot and could be cheaper. For example Redick would be an ok option and can fit it nicely with dunn. Having said that though bulls will probably not let that happen,he will stay and if they don’t like him much they can always trade him later on.

Sign and trades don’t really happen anymore. If they do, the return is minimal.

Lavine will either take the QO or walk imo.

Hardaway signed with Knicks last summer.

That's my point. Those contracts look crazy from a summer where everyone had cap space.

This summer only a couple teams do. Zach is not worth more than 15M per.

2 summers ago was the crazy one

Give him 3/40 with the last year as a player option.

I don't think there'll be a massive offer thrown out by anyone, don't see a suitor there that makes sense, but that being said, I would be very surprised if we get better than under 15m per. I think the Bulls cut off for matching is 20m.

I dont understand why you would even want Lavine on your team... like this isn't a guy i would offer 3/$20 let alone a lot of money. He's horrendous

So he costs us a few wins and then we don’t keep him. Awesome.

He has legitimate all-star potential. I hope Hoiberg can reach him this year and get him to play a little more team oriented ball. Could’ve been him playing for a contract or him itching to show he can still play after his ACL tear. Regardless, not an ideal year to have evaluated him.

I might finally be done if we let our only talented wing player go for nothing, with no prospect to replace him. At least with the Carter pick, we can give him a ton of usage and see what we have. Absolute worst case is he gives us an inefficient 20 ppg. Wouldn’t be surprised if he gives us 25 ppg. What else are we doing with the money again?

I feel like Lavine would do great in an Eric Gordon type role where he can mindlessly gun as a 6th man.

Well it's pretty obvious why Thibs and the FO didn't get along. I wish there was video of Thibs's reaction to Gar telling him he has to play Snell more minutes than Butler.

1 year near max from the Lakers if they don't land 2 max free agents.

Hey, I have a universal and timeless tip: Don’t sign a regressed player with major injury to a long-term contract. ;) Glad Bulls got the memo, if rumors are true.
