The common thread in Kemba + Monk + Miles is a positive attitude. I love that about our foundation. It will take some time but all of them will survive the negativity like Kemba. Fans are in for a real treat.

In regards to the negativity that's been shown this offseason by some members of the board I will say this... There is a difference between being negative and voicing your opinions as to why you're negative versus borderline trolling by making fun of everything in a way that is not constructive or productive. As mods. It can be difficult sometimes to differentiate between the two. But understand that when negativity gets to the point where it is taking away from the quality of the threads then something will need to be done. Just wanted to put that out there. That being said I totally understand why any fan of this franchise would be at their wit's end.

We were the Bobcats, so this era is miles better (see what I did there?). That era almost made me swear off NBA basketball. Seriously. I started a thread titled, "I'm done". Is it in the archives? I really hope not.

It's really not that bad. Also, I think we all take sports a little too seriously. We need to get a life.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

Lol I don't think this board is as bad as people are implying. It's not like threads are filled with constant disrespect and name calling. I just see a lot of passionate fans with strong opinions and are having fairly healthy debates (isnt that the point of message boards). I highly doubt anyone here is letting the hornets crappiness take over their life and cause them depression. It is just frustrating to see a team squander opportunities and be stuck in mediocrity, and a Hornets board is the best place to talk about frustrations with a team. At the end of the day though, I don't let it damage my personal life, it also helps to see Charlotte boy Steph Curry run around out winning championship and breaking records :D

I think you guys got one of, if not the biggest steals in the draft getting Bridges at 12. Perfect guy for your team I think. He's just a player.

Edit: Wow I'm shocked reading through this thread that people hate the pick. We were hoping he slid to 16 in Phx. I ran various polls and he was a guy people would have taken in a heartbeat if there.

Yeah, I liked Mikal more than Miles but he is also a couple years older and of course we gave up an unprotected first rounder to move up 6 spots....I'd take that pick back and Miles had he been there at 16...since I think he can play some small ball 4 which the Suns might need. I think Miles is more of a guy that can create his own offense though and is just a solid all around basketball player. I can get that he seems like a boring pick, but so was Jayson Tatum.

So.... yeah.

Again, totally alright with Miles Bridges. I think the roster is bad enough that getting anybody decent at basketball would be a good addition. He'll fit in somewhere, even if he's a rich man's Treveon Graham. Considering who was available I think this about right. SGA might've been complementary with Monk but I don't think he's clearly so much better than Miles to pick just to build around guys we still have big question marks about. Worst case scenario Miles turns into a bulkier Corey Maggette except with less free throws and boneheaded plays. That's not too bad.

me too, I tend to stay on Gen Board, T&T and the occasional Lakers topic, I realize my Miles post didn't help the attitude here. I'm still high on Monk and think the Mitchell thing was totally fluky. I think with the information available we made the right move drafting Monk, Mitchell just has a 98% chance of having a better career at this point.

Cool man I used to live in NC. I love having roots in both places

Nice, Brooklyn here, was in LA for 6 years so I picked up some Lakers fandom since the Horncats aren't really competing against the West for titles or anything. Being a Hornets fan is an art of passive submission until they actually do something (God that 2016 team was fun).

Yes I live in Manhattan now but will move back to the bronx soon. I hate all NYC teams except the Mets lol. My family keeps trying to get me to move back to NC but I want to either stay here or find another big city

I highly recommend LA if you wanna change big cities

LA is a great place. I always want to stay every time I visit.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Many people think the Suns board is depressing. We've flat out sucked for 8 years after only having like 5 non playoff seasons in 40 or so years before that. So being used to at least having a team to pull for in the playoffs, our team has been at the bottom of and our picks haven't panned out either. Hope is a good thing though. I hope Miles proves the doubters wrong. I think he will be a very solid player. I think he is one of the safest picks in the draft. And safe isn't always fun but swinging and missing is far worse...and he has serious upside and talent too.

from Hornets letter to ticket holders:
Hornets Acquire Three New Players In NBA Draft

Your Hornets had a busy evening during Thursday’s NBA Draft, acquiring the rights to 12th overall pick Miles Bridges from the Los Angeles Clippers and to 34th overall pick Devonte’ Graham from the Atlanta Hawks, while also selecting Lithuanian forward Arnoldas Kulboka with the 55th overall pick.

With new President of Basketball Operations & General Manager Mitch Kupchak, new Head Coach James Borrego and these exciting draft picks, you’ll definitely want to BEE HERE to see what your Hornets have in store for the 2018-19 season.

A 6-7 forward, Bridges was named First Team All-Big Ten and earned consensus Second Team All-American honors in 2017-18 as a sophomore at Michigan State. He averaged 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists for the Spartans and was a finalist for the Naismith National Player of the Year and Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Awards . . .

I actually think Hornets fans are rather tame, considering the situation their team has been in. Go talk to a Knicks or 76ers fan. They'll have you think that their team is in basketball hell, and will tear you apart for thinking otherwise

The Knicks are in basketball hell and have been for about 20 years lol. There light at the end of the tunnel for them at least with the unicorn.
