You think I'm wrong? Look at Eli Manning, Patrick Ewing, and Derek Jeter. Nyc is not a place for who always seek attention. The best type athlete for NYC is not guys who always seek attention but rather those who naturally dont care for attention. That is Why I think KP will be fine in NYC.

Tbh KP loves attention tho. Dude posts his own FreeDawkins highlights on his YouTube

What does him being a bad public speaker have to do with his attitude? Just because he's a bad interview doesn't mean he's not going to work hard to get better on the court.

I wasn't speaking about his work ethic but about the way he carries himself during interviews.

Hard to believe we got this guy with the 36th pick

If he pans out, you have the defensive length at center that allows KP to remain a 4. Could be a freaky defensive team

True. One thing I can tell rather quickly is that he's very agile. So that bodes well for him. I wouldn't ever accuse him of being a stiff

It was hard to listen to but it's a skill you learn over time. But yeah, Perry and Mills had to step in almost every time he spoke.

He clearly isn’t that well educated, but he seems like a good kid. He doesn’t have a bad attitude.

Patrick Ewing was awkward in interviews too when he first came into the league. And when he was 18, it was really bad. Give this kid a chance to develop some confidence as a person. The Knicks will help him out in this department.

Frank was incredibly shy at first. Not quite so awkward, but very much a shy kid like Mitchell.

Sure this kid has nice size and athletic ability but there is something about him that just has me reserved. If he wasn't in the NBA in a few years I really wouldn't be shocked about it. Gonna hope he pans out though but like you said he needs a lot of work.

He was the number 9 prospect coming out last year (according to video above), which is ironic.
He migh not be that much more a project, depending on what he‘s done since the. What has he done?

Well in the press conference he was asked what he's been doing to stay competitive, pick up games and such. He replied "no, just working out 9-5" to which Perry scrambles to clean up his statement, saying that there was a former nba player present.

Again, I'm not gonna totally bash the pick. He's young, he once had a top 15 national ranking, the physical aspects are intriguing and it's a second round pick. But
-he needs to be coached in terms of verbally getting his story straight cuz that press conference was hard to watch
- he needs to be coached on basic fundamentals cuz he looks like a project. A project I'm fine taking on but still a project.

Idk why some fans are getting defensive.

I am a bit rosy eyed with the guy, but I admit, we are swinging for the bleachers here. Thing is, after reading up on him, A LOT of sites had him as a top 10 prospect and the 3rd best center, and some as the BEST DEFENSIVE one! Did you see his HS block numbers? Like 6 a game, albeit in a lesser known district. He may be quite raw offensively, but his timing and defensive instincts (and athleticism) make me think he will be an NBA player defensively. My biggest worry is how he handles the attention and NY. But, no problems with the law and looks to be a good kid...
We do have the damn near perfect coach for him, eh?
Thanks for the info btw...

Thats why I said that he might be out of the league or a diamond in the rough. I think he needs a great coach(father-like figure), friendly teammates and good vets around him to blossom into a really really special player. I think with the right approach to him and development, we will hit the homerun with this dude.

I feel like Jack would be a perfect vet for him, hopefully he stays around as a assistant or consultant or something.

Fiz is a father figure type coach. He landed in the right place.

He might play in Westchester first though so the Fiz factor may come later. But our coaching in Westchester is the best of the B league too so he will be in good hands there too.

I could be wrong and honestly hope I am but it would NOT surprise me to find out that he was 'pardoned' through school because of his athleticism which would be a reason to not go to college. Doesn't make him a bad person or dumb and I could be waaay off.
