Caris LeVert would've been good.

Anyway, Van Gundy is a moron. He signed Jon Leuer to a vastly oversized deal two weeks after drafting Ellenson, then did the same thing with Galloway and Kennard a year later.

Leuer deal made sense but definitely not at that size of a contract for both players. PF was needed then so Leuer wasn't a bad decision. Galloway wasn't needed though that's for sure.

No one will ever make sense of letting Tolliver walk to sign a worse player in Leuer (for more than significantly more than double the money Tolliver got) while simultaneously drafting a guy in the 1st round that plays that position.

You'd think he would have learned his lesson... then Galloway. :banghead:

I'm gonna go with probably not, but Khyri Thomas has an outside chance of getting 500 by himself if his defense & shooting is legit. Being a tenacious defender that can hit threes, makes him an immediate threat to Stanley and Luke's playing time since both of them can only do one or the other. I could see there being times he finds himself on the floor because Luke is getting torched on D and Stanley is missing too many open shots.

Khyri and Bruce don't really have world beaters in their path for minutes. With a strong showing in summer league and training camp, 1 or both could end up in the rotation.

For perspective, fourteen rookies scored 500 points last year, and a total of 31 scored 250. It took at least 20 min/game to get 500 (Kennard) and about 13 min/game to get 250 (Jordan Bell).

So I'm guessing that one of the two rookies would have to wedge into the rotation and take minutes from Kennard, Johnson, Bullock, and possibly Galloway and Ennis in order to hit the 500 mark.

How many of the 14 were 2nd round picks?

How many of the 31 were 2nd round picks?

eh - probably not. Coach has a rep for playing a pretty deep bench, but the barring major injuries, it would hard for them to get enough minutes.
