If that's our lineup we have to be one of the favorites to take 1st place. Our one glaring weakness is defense; just outscore every opponent.

There's too much athleticism and legit NBA rotation talent on that team for them to not play really well. They lack size as a group, but they should be able to run most teams off the floor.

I'll be watching for the first time since whenever MKG last played. We moved to a rural area and had HughesNet extremely capped internet but finally got a much better option in Viasat out here so hopefully some of the games will be on tv but I'm covered if I have to use pie.

I'm really looking forward to summer league in a way that I haven't for years. We get to see Borrego coaching for the first time and will get a sense of what his offensive and defensive schemes might look like. Malik, Miles, & Devonte will all have their first summer leagues - and will all likely see extended minutes. Willy & Bacon being there will make things interesting as well and guarantee a strong overall lineup.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Monk + Devonte will be in alley-hoop heaven with Miles charging down the court. We're going to be the Harlem Globetrotters of Summer League.

It sucks that we will invite so many from our Roster to our summer league team. I think there is so much quality that went undrafted. These are the best available that we should consider adding to our summer league listed from best to worse

PG-Jaylen Hands, Joel Berry, Shamarie Ponds
SG-Malik Newman, Theo Pinson, Corey Sanders
SF-Vanja Marinkovic, Rodions Kurucs, Deng Adel
PF-Yuta Watanabe, Kelan Martin, Yante Maten
C-Brandon McCoy, Borisa Simanic, Austin Wiley, Jo Lual-Acuil Jr.

there is a lot of talent there.

Gabe Devoe from Clemson
Chris Cokely from UAB
BJ Johnson from Lasalle

Are all on our summer league team, I would assume JP Macura as well.

Haven’t heard anything about Paige or Mangok

Theo Pinson signed with the Nets. And Joel Berry with the Lakers.

Theo was fun to watch at UNC. It will be interesting to see if he can stick in the pros.

Yeah thanks for the update. He and YuTa Watanabe are both with the Nets summer league. If they make it I will get to watch them both because I get all the knicks and nets games

This kid I like. Has a complete game and does a little bit of everything, but I think he might have had an injuries that lowered his draft stock. If not he would have probably been drafted. If he bounces back from them/it. I think he has potential.

You could say the legend of Gabe DeVoe began eight years ago, before he ever put on a Shelby High boys’ basketball jersey.

DeVoe was was an eighth-grader then when one of his classmates, the son of a Shelby High administrator, bumped into basketball coach Aubrey Hollifield walking down the hall. The boy told Hollifield to watch out for DeVoe, that he’d be something special, that DeVoe would be the best player ever from Shelby High.

Hollifield chuckled and went on his way. Two years later, that same boy was a sophomore when Hollifield again saw him roaming the hallways at Shelby. The coach approached him and acknowledged that the boy had been right all along.

DeVoe was for real – or as Hollifield called him, the “best player to ever come through this school.”

Very good read about who Gabe DeVoe is, I encourage everyone if you get a minute to check out the entire article.

I'm so ready for next Friday. MLB is just now hitting the halfway point this weekend and baseball fatigue is setting in.

Should be an exciting week next week. I'm glad we are super focused on player development, Borrego did a great job in SAS with their players who weren't drafted as high as ours were.

When will we get an idea on the full roster? WH, Bridges, Monk, Bacon, Graham and Macura as our players under contract or that we drafted along with DeVoe, Cokely, Grantham and Johnson is that it?
