Then play him as a 4 if it proves to be problematic.

A PF with his playmaking skills that can shoot 3's? He is longer than Kevin Love.

If he really ends up being a PF then his stock only goes up in my eyes. Then suddenly in addition to being a playmaker on the ball he can become a screen setter off the ball. If you have a PG who is an off the dribble three point shooting threat then you suddenly force the defense to make the type of decisions a Curry/Green pick and roll presents.

That's why his ceiling is so ridiculous. Just how impactful are just straight stetch 4's are in the nba today...and Luka can do a whole lot of other things to boot. His ability to shoot off the dribble as a 4, rebound and run the break nd playmake in transition and in the half court is unprecedented.

The fact that he is so versatile is important. could play the 1 or the 4... if he plays the 1 he will be able to punish smaller PGs in the post in time, and as a 4 he will be an almost impossible cover.

I just can't see how Bagley is a better pick...it makes no sense to me. Definitely not without acquiring additional assets. Divac went with fit because of Fox instead of BPA.

He’s also trying to build a better fitting team to win now, as he/Joerger are on the block, if he didn’t believe Bagley was BPA which is questionable.

Bagley was rated number 1 coming into the season and went to Duke and put up an efficient 20/11. He’s an athletic/motor freak that will allow him to be a plus man and perimeter defender (rim another issue). They worked him out and felt his personality was that of a worker who will seek to improve

A lot is being put on Luka. I got caught up in it too. I had them both on the same tier though. Luka’s athleticism will be the issue and if he can make that transition to 4

I think both Luka and Bagley can be good all around players. I think they are just completely different. I think Bagley can get his own offense better than Doncic, and Doncic can get his teammates more involved on offense better than Bagley although Bagley does show decent passing potential as well.

What are some opinions on where Bagley's at physique-wise? He's listed as 234lbs, only 6 pounds lighter than Willie, but Willie's been able to add some serious muscle since he's been here. Bagley seems very skinny in the lower body and i wonder if he'd be able to hold his own defensively as a center his rookie year. Otherwise we'll probably have to use him as a 4, where he may get exposed a little more defensively.

He doesn't have the widest body so i don't see him putting on a ton of weight down the road but if he can get to the 240/245 range he'll be fine. You wonder what kind of strides he can make body-wise between now and opening night.

i think if he looks good in summer league you've got to start him opening night and get rid of ZBo this offseason. Don't even give Joerger the temptation to go back to grit/grind.

It’s funny, when I watch Luka in highlights now he moves like a snail. Funny how hype/not being your player colors you’re glasses

True but if he was fast he would be a LeBron level prospect.

Lol, not even close. We haven't seen a Lebron level prospect EVER. Doncic isn't even close even if he was fast. Come on now

If he was athletic as LeBron then he'd arguably the greatest prospect of all time. He's LeBron size and I don't think anyone would dispute he's far more skilled than a 19 year old LeBron.

The point being is the skills he's shown are so good for a guy his size that he's still a top pick even with the knock of being not that athletic. We'll see if his game translates. I don't think he's any sure thing as an all-star but I would be shocked if he didn't have a long and productive career.

Meanwhile Celtics rookie Robert Williams is already showing why he dropped in the draft.

Misses his introductory conference call the morning after the draft. Apparently he was still sleeping.

Absent for the C's 1st summer league practice today. Missed his flight to Boston.

Getting drafted SHOULD light a fire. Williams better wake up or he will find himself out of the league

Wow. Maybe he didn't want to get drafted a team that has no big role for him and he wants out already.

Return to Sacramento Kings
