Re: Free Agent Talk
Yeah I think Warriors fans would all jump for joy if they got Avery Bradley. I would be shocked if he settled for the taxpayer mle though...but one can always hope
Tyreke Evans is intriguing. The Warriors 2nd unit has had trouble scoring and he would help in that area a lot imo. As far as shooters, Wayne Ellington had a terrific year. Does anyone know how he is defensively? Warriors need to make sure whoever they sign is not an obvious liability on that end the way Nick Young was for most of last year...although I will give Swaggy props for his defense in the Houston series.

There is not one word from Oquinn in that article that says what the headline does.

Re: Free Agent Talk
I think the team is going to bring McCaw back using the Arenas rule if need be.
They will offer Looney the max they can offer and leave that decision up to him.
A veteran wing and a veteran center are the top needs. The MLE should probably go to a wing since the position value is higher.
Any center of value is going to be a ring chaser, to me the top 3 choices (in no particular order):
JaVale
O'Quinn
Lopez
Wings (none of these may be willing to leave a lot of money on the table), all would fit, some would obviously be better than others:
Belinelli
Gay
Ennis
Evans
Barton
Bradley
Reddick
KCP
Ellington
Harris
Myers has a sales job ahead of him.

Re: Free Agent Talk
If Phonix renounces Len, he's another great option for the C position.
With so few teams having cap space, I think we'll be very competitive on the market this off season because we have less money disadvantage and we can offer a great showcase opportunity to a lot of players that seek attention.

Based on the warriors saying they want to get younger
And see how we have Bell, Jones, Cook and Evans for some youth, more youth too look at would be
Grant, Len, Herzonja, KOQ and cuz he would just fit, brook lopez

I think Enes Kanter is getting bad advice. He should opt into his 18 mil.

Re: Free Agent Talk
I pumped with JaVale coming back. I feel like him and Jones can handle the bigger guys, and the rest of the time Bell and Draymond can handle the smaller quicker lineups.
Kind of hope Looney comes back, and I think he will. He would then slide back into that mix at either position.
We don't really need a ring chasing big to be honest. Unless one falls into our lap.
I would much rather maintain a little flexibility to add a piece if needed after buyouts towards the end of the year.

I read Haynes' article and the WarriorsWorld interpretation of it. While McGee definitely said he wants to be back, I didn't see any statement from him that talked about compensation, though the reporters implied that he's willing to come back for the minimum. If I see McGee say that, then I'll feel more "sure" that he's coming back, because I don't think the Warriors will pay him more than that. And if that happens, I agree with you - I actually think the 4 guys (especially if Looney returns) are everything we need, and we can focus elsewhere. But until that gap ("I'm coming back even if they just offer the minimum") is filled, I just read the article as a guy happy to be in Golden State...... button necessarily willing to come back for less money than could be made elsewhere.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

He'll come back for the minimum, because no one will offer him any more. The question is if the Warriors want him back. He gives them a spark sometimes, but he has so many limitations. Same with Looney. It wouldn't surprise me if the Warriors try to upgrade from both of them.

I'd absolutely have him back. Is he a world-beater? No. Can he provide very serviceable minutes, on a budget? Absolutely. And he hasn't really had the number of brain-dead moments that were displayed earlier in his career, so he's now pretty dependable when put in the right situation. We do need somebody such as him with more experience against some teams with bulk - Bell and Looney don't have the size and strength, and Jones is awfully green. I expect neither of Zaza nor West to be back, and only think 1 additional replacement (beyond Javale) is needed, which frees a roster spot to get another wing.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

Since Javale is now a 10 year vet, his minimum is 2.38 mil. So a little boost over last season.

Len is awful, and someone will overpay I bet.

Re: Free Agent Talk
There are too many decent Cs on the market and too little cap space to expect that Javale will get any offer above the minimum in my opinion.
He can't play more than 10-15 minutes per game and this limits his value a lot for other teams. We need exactly that, so it's not a problem for us.
I'd still rather have Len, but Javale is apparently good for the locker room and his skillset proved useful sometimes, so I'd bring him back.
Same for Looney, but given his youth there's a slightly higher chance he gets offers, but I wouldn't be shocked if he came back.

Ahhhh........ good point. And Javale probably realizes that even his best market wouldn't be much above that, so it's probably a decent assumption that he'd be "happy" at that amount.
Yep, I'd bring him back, and that simplifies any further "search" for centers this off-season.

We will get two solid vets who will take one year deals, both min maybe one gets MLE
They’ll want to be free agents again next year bc the money they want isn’t out there.

Paul George will sign with Lakers. Next Lebron. I don't think they should trade the young guys for Kawhi. they should keep the young core of Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, and Hart and roll with that. Let it play out next season and then sign Kawhi next off season.

I agree. But we're basically slaves to whatever Lebron wants, and he wants Kawhi and doesn't care for younger players. I'm not optimistic about these guys joining us though, every year we get linked with a big name and we strike out lol.
