Just like paying a max to Aaron Gordon.

Both are preferable to any mention of Marcus Smart, Rajon Rondo, or any other washed up Celtics.

We really don't need a score first PG like Kemba. We need a role playing PG who can defend, hit the three, and start the offense. Let Booker, Ayton, Warren/Jackson be the primary scorers. Just a solid PG that is not going to be a ball hog. Let's hope Knight, Harrison, or Okobo wants to fill that role. The bench PG can be a scorer.

I'm warming up to the idea that we don't even need to spend our valuable cap space on a pg. I think what we currently have may be good enough:

1) Brandon Knight
2) Elie Okobo
3) Booker / Jackson / Bender - 3 headed facilitator.

Sign me up for this plan. Shaq Harrison is a bulldog defensively and is just as athletic as Smart. He can't shoot from 3 either so they are very similar players. Only one is going to cost you $12M or so a year and the other.... is not.

Harrison has some hops for sure and is a menace on defense. It's also worthwhile to note that he did hit .321 from three in G-league which is better than Smart's .301. I really like these highlight. Also loved Alex Peters coming off screens in that game and stroking the three ball.

Man, a whole lot of professional Suns fans with podcasts seem to think Harrison is worthless. Sometimes I wonder (especially given how frequently they mispronounce players' names) if these guys actually WATCH Suns basketball. But since they're all in agreement that last year's team was unwatchable, perhaps they did not think it part of their professional duties to watch this team.

Cutting Harrison would be a HUGE mistake.

Advanced stats make it so you don't need to watch basketball. Who wants to waste their time watching games?

Wondering if that is our best option to be honest. I dont like that he has played in 4 playoff games over 9 seasons BUT it looks like he has matured. Super talented guy.

That's probably the least of my worries.

Hard Pass I like the wings we have better and im assuming he will want to play on a playoff team, which we are at least a year away from more than likely. Although would like to sneak into the 8th spot just for experience.

In my opinion the biggest need at pg is a playmaker. Right now Booker is the only guard on our team capable of making plays for himself and others. What are we supposed to do when Booker is sitting? The offense will stagnate again. This rationale is why I also advocate for Rondo. Josh is taking steps at becoming a playmaker but he’s not there yet. Tyler Ulis is a great playmaker for others but not himself, and his other liabilities are most likely going to result in him getting cut.

If Knight were any good he would be pretty ideal, which is why there are a few people still hoping that he can show something positive this year. I like the idea of Teodosic (if his foot is okay) because he can get our wings involved and run the show while booker is sitting, and help find him open looks when playing together. I think I would trade Daniels for Teodosic and a 2nd right now before he gets waived by LAC so we can save money to go after someone else and clear a roster spot.

Evans also fits the bill but he’s going to want multiple years at above the MLE and with his inconsistent history I wouldn’t touch that. Perhaps he would be the ideal candidate for a large 1 year deal.

Only issue I got with him is that he is close to one of the worst defenders in the league.

I want a good PG defender that can help/make Booker's job easier. Would much prefer Beverley if I had a pick of Clippers guards.

A Teodosic and Booker back court would be so bad and put a lot of pressure on potentially another poor defender in Ayton inside.

We would have no worries stopping the wings but guards would run rampant on us.

Rondo would be a perfect fit in my opinion.

We don't need another pg who scores at first priority like Dragic, Bledsoe, Knight.

We need a PG who can playmake and can defend as the 1st two priorties. We can't afford to have a bad defender next to Booker.

Rondo fits the mould perfectly of the 2 biggest needs we would want out of a PG (Defense and Play Making).

3 years 30 mil is definitely not an overpay with the salary cap these days and could be argued as a bargain imo. He would run the pick and roll so good with Ayton, like he did with AD in New Orleans.

Once chemistry is established Rondo was huge for the Pelicans in the back end of last year.

That Dallas game was pretty much a spotlight D-league matchup...but I'd still waive Ulis, Knight, Reed, and Daniels before Harrison

TJ McConnell says hi!

No to Rondo or Smart or any PG that can't shoot.

Its funny.

Gambo reports we will be going after him if he does become a FA, then an hour later goes completely against what he just said.

Eh. He's not that good. Brad Stevens is. I would prefer it to many of the deals fans are putting out there, but I still would lean towards a no. I want a point guard who moves the ball a bit better than IT.

Given the expected money involved, I can only really get behind Bev, Exum, or maybe Van Vleet (but I hesitate at the $9 mil per year being thrown aroudn). We need a potential starter more than a backup. Exum I look at his release and it's damn near textbook. I have no idea why his 3 point percentage is not good. I think he will end up average at least at that end because I'm not sure there is really anything to fix on the release. Just repetition.

Anyone else think that since the Wizards dumped Gortat that they are positioning themselves to reunite Wall with Cousins? Makes sense to me. Wall/Beal/Otto/Keiff/Cousins

Unless he's willing to take a super cheap contract or NO is willing to take back Porter it doesn't work money wise.

Now if they were willing to s&t beal obviously NO does it but it would be dumb on Washingtons part.

They moved gortat because him and Wall HATE each other.

How would they make that work capwise? Otto Porter isn't that valuable.
