Exactly, which is why Magic's words were so dumb. You're creating a persona that you're desperate and teams will take advantage of that.

LeBron will sign with 76ers or Cavs if Lakers are unable to get Kawh by July 7.

I doubt the Lakers are in a rush. Like I said in another post. Folks didn't even know kawhi wanted out until a few weeks ago. LeBron was supposedly already coming and I doubt a trade for kawhi changes that.

What does that mean? I know that you are trying to be snarky, but if you do not agree with me for BASKETBALL REASONS, I would love to hear your argument.

As I said, if they want to be in LA because Kawhi is from LA and LBJ wants to work on his post-basketball life, that is fine...but let's not argue that - purely from a basketball perspective - that LA is a better team RIGHT NOW to go to the Finals next season.

In a vacuum considering only basketball reasons, I could see why you would want to play for team B. Lets delve deeper; your all nba player is one in a very weak position. He has played how many games in his career? Banking on his health going forward is iffy. Your all rookie is a that, a rookie who was shut down easily by clogging the paint. The all Def wing would likely be gone in a trade to get said players.

Include all the other ancillary reasons and the argument isnt so one sided.

And just as Covington would need to be traded for Kawhi, the Lakers are probably not getting Kawhi for Deng and a couple of picks...right?

I fully accept that these players want to go to LA. I also understand that - over time - they may be able to build a great team to take on the Warriors and Rockets. However, I am still waiting for the BASKETBALL FOCUSED explanation for how adding Kawhi and LeBron (which will include whatever assets the Lakers will need to give up to acquire Kawhi) to the Lakers will be a team that is better positioned to get to the Finals and win a championship in 2018-19 than the Sixers would be. I have both player-related and team-related FACTS to back up my argument.

I do recognize that there are non-basketball reasons why they want to be in LA. At the end of the day, that outweighs the other stuff...and I accept that.

I hope Pop/RC stick it to Kawhi & trade him to a lottery team.

Honestly though Pop/RC are too smart/competitive to not send him to the East.

Yup, Tatum and Brown. Then Kawhi leaves for LA. Then Kyrie asks for a trade. Then Hayward is damaged goods. Then Horford finally declines. #FeelsBadMan

If PG is staying in OKC next season, and the Spurs are not motivated to make a deal for Kawhi right now - and they really have no major reason to rush - there is a reasonable chance that LBJ simply stays in Cleveland for another season.

It is not the end of the world for the Lakers...and in some ways, it is actually better - the young guys have another year to play heavy minutes to grow their games...the team does not have to give up any assets to get Kawhi...the Lakers can actually see Kawhi play and make sure that he is healthy before making a committment (and if he is not healthy, they can just sign PG instead next summer). And the reality is - even if you add Kawhi and LBJ this summer - given the pieces you will likely have to give up to get Kawhi, it will take several high-quality ring-chasers to take short paper to give you guys a shot against the Dubs in 2018-19.

If the Lakers are truly playing the long game to return to greatness, there is no rush - right?

What does it matter if he's walking to LA next year anyways. Dont let silly bias come in between efficient asset management

SAS "reporting" that Kawhi might not be enamored of playing with LeBron in LA because he doesnt like that kind of media circus.

Which begs the question - why the hell are you going to LA then? Demand a trade to Sacramento, or Milwaukee, or Indiana, or somewhere else in the middle of the country where the paparazzi doesn't flock.

Of course this is all predicated on believing SAS, which you shouldn't. He should put more effort into his bogus rumors.

If the Lakers bring in LeBron and PG13, how do they bring in Kawhi next year?

BTW the same thing was said about PG13, he got dealt as a potential rental, and may stay in OKC. So its not that cut and dry

Fake fans.....Had no idea how Westbrook played on his first few years....they thought he was already great after a year or 2 in the league. Now they are comparing Lakers' young players to today's Westbrook. Hahahaha.....

This is a joke right?
Westbrook was an allstar by 22, the same age as Kuzma was last season. Kuzma will be lucky to ever make an allstar game in his career.

Westbrook was an all-star in his rookie year ? Wow oh wow !!

I clearly didn't say that in my post, did I?

Just to be clear, you think Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma will both become MVP players, if not better, in the future?

Kawhi isn’t in control his uncle is .

I still think all of this was caused because the spurs didn’t offer the super max

Celtics are good enough that he may want to stay -- they could win the chip with Kawhi next year. Also Lebron is probably trying to figure it all out this year, if they can mess up KL/Lebron connection maybe it won't happen.

Crazy thing is he might not even suit up. If ainge calls his bluff and he says his injury is "lingering" we already seen he's willing to blow an entire season. Ainge isnt stupid.
