What about adding Kemba/Love?

IF we could land both (I know a lot of people here don't like Kemba), I think we are an immediate playoff contender. It would be super pricey trade though and our team would all of a sudden become very expensive now and in the future. But...

Kemba
Booker
JJ
Love
Ayton

is pretty fun to think about

I wonder if we would consider Rudy Gay a stretch 4.

I think it's the Rockets.

Lebron struck out on the Claw. He's worried he will strike out with PG. And his last desperation move was trying to get KD to come with him:

Now he's going to force his way to the Rockets.

I would pass on Love. Kemba would be great.

Love for Warren+Chriss+Mil pick is fine. K Love can probably play with this young core until he's 35 or 36 so he has 6-7 years left and I think he'll get back to a 20/10 guy here with a higher tempo pace.

I want off Warren's contract so we have the space to resign Jackson and down the road Ayton/Bender/Okobo (if he's good)

If we dump Dudley/Chandler and pickup Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon, we essentially "punt" on free agency until next year all while getting two vets who can play and come from a winning team.

Not really buying this rumor but hypothetically if it is a love deal I could get behind it as long as the price was reasonable. I'm kind of curious how love would look in another situation.

PG13 just opted out. I can't believe LeBron is begging other stars to play with him.

Hard to see that working - seems as if Warren would be the player each team wants. Maybe Chriss - but thats probably a reach. I think only one player would happen. But the Suns could get Love with Hill.

He was always going to opt out. He makes more money signing a new contract than opting in.

Anderson has 2 years left on his horrid deal so we miss out on next year's FA as well. He makes $21+ mil a year and is not good. I don't see why we would do that deal as opposed to taking on Deng and grabbing Kuzma or Ball. ERic Gordon is really good but he is highly paid and taking on one of the worst contracts in basketball in Anderson ought to net us more. Particularly if we're missing out on FA this year AND next, which is our 2 best shots in the next 5 or so years of doing something in FA.

Yup. We also possibly send a young player to the Cavs.

Rockets add two unprotected 1st rounders to get Gilbert to play along.

Also I really hope Leonard is traded to Boston and they give up a ton and then he bolts for LA.

Why would we also send a young player out here? There are no teams that Houston can dump Anderson on or they would have done it by now. He was not playable in the playoffs and they are stuck with his $21+ mil deal for 2 more years. Dudley and Chandler are expirings at least despite being dead weight. I don't see any reason why we would do this, let alone add a youngster despite taknig on the worst asset in the deal, all to get Lebron to Houston. Unless McD just loves Lebron that much (and I'm guessing he doesn't thanks to his chrony Rich Paul), no way this would occur. Maybe if we got Love back with Gordon, but not for Anderson.

In terms of value, taking Lonzo and Deng into cap space is a great deal. I love Lonzo's fit with this team. Certainly a much better deal in terms of value than sending out Warren AND Chriss AND a 1st for Love.

But my mind explodes at the thought of the $$$ it would take to keep Lonzo-Booker-Jackson-Bridges-Ayton together long-term. You're looking at 5 max deals, right there. Like, $150 million per, for five players. Pretty hard to imagine.

OTOH, you have contractual control of these guys for the next 5 (Booker) to 8 (Ayton + Bridges) years. We'd be in the championship conversation beginning in 2019-20 and every year thereafter, as long as we can keep it together. How much $$$ is a dynasty worth?

Perhaps the ultimate solution there is to start shedding players from your core at some point via trade. If these guys truly are worth the max, you can get long-term value back in exchange, no problem.

But given that this a CLE business owner that knows about this deal, it is more reasonable to assume that CLE is involved in the deal. Why would this guy be the first person to know about a LAL-PHX deal?
