Which begs the question - why the hell are you going to LA then? Demand a trade to Sacramento, or Milwaukee, or Indiana, or somewhere else in the middle of the country where the paparazzi doesn't flock.

Of course this is all predicated on believing SAS, which you shouldn't. He should put more effort into his bogus rumors.

Yeah I also thought this was curious. That literally is all LA is.

Spurs could be faking this Godfather information to get more out of other teams.

Maybe he thinks there will be less media on the clippers

Celts own the Sacramento pick.

Not for a rental. Remember, we just fired Colangelo.

Still - if the Clippers become contenders, they'll still get a lot of hype, no? I think this story is bogus anyways tbh. He knows what comes with LA life.

No they unearthed Marlon Brando's corpse, removed the worms, and dressed him in Valentino.

That's clearly from his uncle/management. He wants to exploit his nephew by building a brand and Lebron's superstardom makes it impossible to do that if they're on the same team. Hard to get the best sponsors and shoe deals when your role in LA is Lebron's sidekick. This is the same idiot that spurned Nike because they thought 5 mil a year was too low for his nephew. They clearly didn't think through their "LA or bust" narrative they cooked up.

I think teams must consider most importantly what does Kawahi want and need for his future.

Kawahi needs his support group from what I see.

He will be a one year rental and has expressed that. He is not signing an extension until next summer.

I think it is a big risk to think he would want to stay long term out East after his experience away from home in San Antonio.

everything is too much for a 1 year rental. Ainge isn't giving up Brown only for Kawhi to leave. Nor are the sixers giving up Fultz. Paul George leaving the thunder for LA and going through on his promise is only going to drive that point home and give LA & Kawhi more leverage

I think that actually makes LA more desperate actually. LA needs this to happen soon.

Except it can't - unless Ainge or Brett Brown do things that should get them fired. Some Lakers fans
(not all) think that they can move Deng in a trade. Ain't gonna happen.

If both Paul George and LeBron sign for $75 mil, Kawhi is basically the odd man out. His value goes
down overnight. No Fultz. No Jaylen Brown (except to make the numbers work).

But the same holds for LeBron and Paul George: If their objective is to win now, the Lakers aren't
ready to dethrone Houston and Golden State.

The Celtics and Sixers might not be ready either.

I'm enjoying the clusterf**k in the latest round of collusion. Clearly, LeBron and Kawhi have overplayed
their hands.

Paul George, to his credit (or to the credit of his handlers), has kept a low profile.

To me if you’re gonna gamble do it for a player like Kawhi..

The nba is about getting top of the league players you NEED to win titles and Kawhi is one of those few players..

Chances are slim to none any assets you give up whether you’re the Lakers Celtics or a Sixers will ever be a top of the league player.

I’d take my chances that once Kawhi gets to my team and we’re highly successful that there’s a good chance he’d resign

Yea especially a team like Boston with how well run of an organization they are and a big market would have an excellent chance of resigning Kawhi, I agree it's worth the gamble if you are the celtics. They have been building and building and done a great job but at some point they need to land a true top 5 player to get over the top in todays nba.

I was thinking maybe they're offering Shaq…or Jabbar…or even Magic himself.

True I do think you have great points, but we will see how that logic plays out with OKC and PG.

It's still different OKC is a small market and didn't have that good of a season so if George leaves its understandable, it would be more odd for Kawhi to leave a fairly stacked Celtics team to go play with a 35 year old Lebron James.

The amount of trash ESPN and co. has been "reporting" this last week is shocking.

A Lakers beat writer. IMO Lakers newest speculated offer is WAY overpay for a guy they can easily grab next summer for free and whom we have zero idea if hes 100% or ever will be.

I agree but Ainge usually doesn’t give up assets and is hesitant to do a deal where he’s not fleecing the other team so he probably won’t take that chance
