Sexton and Love for Jackson, Dudley and Bender. No clue if it makes sense just throwing something at the wall

Sounds like wishful thinking. Deng is 17mil. Lakers pretty desperate plus not much cap space out there equals big overpay for lakers. Probably Ball + 1st since Suns can at least use a point guard..

All year I heard how Kevin Love sucks on this forum but now in the offseason I see so many teams saying Love is the "perfect fit" for them.

We do need a stretch 4 but with Booker Ayton and Love our defense would be awful. Id rather not trade for him unless its a great deal for us. Think hes on the decline

Love sucks with Cleveland. That coaching, and being Lebron's sidekick is horrible
Love is a stretch 4 who can rebound. That is what the suns need at their 4. They also need a veteran

Re: Possible big Suns trade coming?
The only reason I would see PHO/CLE talking about Love is "if" CLE is looking for PHO to provide that extra value to SAS for Kawhi.
I just don't see PHO doing a deal for Love RIGHT now before FA just to do one. Either CLE has been tipped off by LBJ that he's staying at least 1 more year and seeing as they botched PG last year without a commitment; maybe they roll the dice on acquiring Kawhi, let them play out the 1 year together and go from there. I mean, it sort of makes sense cuz why would KLove exercise his PO to stay in CLE if he knows LBJ will be leaving next year anyways. If PHO is willing to pay a little something something to help facilitate a deal for us, worth a shot.
Gonna be awkward when instead of Kyrie commenting on CLE giving #2 to Sexton, he gonna have to answer for when CLE gives #2 to Kawhi.

Naw, he sucks. Him not being able to bully guys down on the block with his big butt pretty much just makes him a slightly better Ryan Anderson cuz he can rebound/do outlet passes.
You guys already have done the "stretch-4" guys in Channing Frye and Jared Dudley. Clearly, Bender/Chriss aren't doin much for ya'll either.
But I do agree, with your roster makeup/personnel, it makes sense to have a stretch-4 next to Ayton now. A player like Draymond, tho, would be the "best" fit with the squad you guys have, imo. Knight, Booker, Jackson, Draymond-like guy, Ayton...That would be NASTY.

Actually he has been pretty good with Lebron the last four years, an important player in four finals and one championship run, it's just against Golden State that he sucks.

Dude he scores all of the time in the low post, he's a 20 point per game player on the Cavs, it's not like he's just a spot up three point shooter.

Hey maybe the Suns are letting Ayton play PF and they're doing DeAndre for Josh Jackson :p

Re: Possible big Suns trade coming?
Love used to have a lot of defenders when he was accused of being a soft stat padder who didn't seriously contribute to winning. Myself included. But after this year, a time when he had every opportunity to assert himself in the hierarchy, I think most have concluded that the original commentary on him was mostly true.
I typically favor demonstrable, stat based arguments, but it's tough to think much of Love after watching so much of him the past few years. He stretches the floor really well and is a strong rebounder, but you can't seriously want him to be any more than a third option offensively and his defensive shortcomings are so significant that they severely restrict any defensive game plan. But, honestly, it's mostly it's his lack of nastiness that does him in.

It would be Love and Sexton for Kawhi. I think Sexton is the type of guy Pop and the Spurs would like, a gym rat who lives for basketball. Love would go to Phoenix with Phoenix providing SA with more pieces they would want (if they don't want Love for example).

As I have said many times, the Cavs are looking to improve their team and get younger and more athletic, regardless of what Lebron does. I think Cavs believe he is gone this year or next year at the latest. I could see a trade for Love (especially since they put it out there they were keeping him regardless), as well as possibly George Hill for 2 of the 3 bigger Phoenix contracts as well as Chriss and Bridges and possibly a protected # 1. Phoenix seems to want to be a non lottery team this year with Ayton added.
They were getting a lot of pressure last year from Booker to upgrade to a playoff team if I recall..

All moves happen after free agent moratorium is up.
Ball and Deng heading to Phoenix. Phoenix gives up the Milwaukee pick or their own and absorbs contracts into space.
Lakers trade Kuz, Ingram, Hart their 1st and 1st they got in trade above for Kawai. Uneven trade o.k. because using space.
Lakers sign LeBron and PG-13 using cap space.

Both guys are more like combo guards, would be a nice back court with great defense/hustle.

I don't know what games you were watching but CLE/LBJ turned Love into just a spot up/spread the floor for LBJ shooter. Again, on my eye test, KLove has NEVER been the player he was in MIN cuz 1) Cavs didn't put him in his spots that MIN/Rubio gave Love the opportunity to be successful and 2) He got soft. There is a reason Thad Young, Markieff Morris, Trevor Booker, Draymond Green, LMA, TERRENCE JONES (who dropped 36 on Love 2 years ago) has punked Love since he's been in CLE. Slightly more athletic, better range of motion but clearly nowhere near the "prospect" pedigree/NBA legacy caliber type player (outside of maybe Draymond) that Love has always been since coming into the league as #4 pick, that's just a handful of guys I've seen just completely own our Olympian/All-Star Kevin Love for a fraction of what Love is being paid to do. That's just how the game has evolved where the traditional big man with his back to the basket is a dying breed and pretty much every team needs 3-D guys not named Tony Allen/Andre Roberson terrible on offense. That's all I'm sayin.
CLE, for the past 4 years has pretty much relied on just outscoring/3pt barraging their opponents and to a degree, it HAS gotten us to the Finals the past 4 years. BUT, it's pretty clear, you gotta balance out with some better defensive players, otherwise, we're just gonna run LBJ into the ground in the twilight of his career.
