The nba is about getting top of the league players you NEED to win titles and Kawhi is one of those few players..

Chances are slim to none any assets you give up whether you’re the Lakers Celtics or a Sixers will ever be a top of the league player.

I’d take my chances that once Kawhi gets to my team and we’re highly successful that there’s a good chance he’d resign

True I do think you have great points, but we will see how that logic plays out with OKC and PG.

It's still different OKC is a small market and didn't have that good of a season so if George leaves its understandable, it would be more odd for Kawhi to leave a fairly stacked Celtics team to go play with a 35 year old Lebron James.

It's going to be a gamble for Boston and it also matters who they have to give up to get him. They are already really really close and get Kyrie and Hayward back.

Maybe they can convince Leonard to stay and they will get to the Finals multiple years in a row. It just depends how much Leonard value where he's at vs contending.

Boston does stand the best chance of convincing him to stay.

A Lakers beat writer. IMO Lakers newest speculated offer is WAY overpay for a guy they can easily grab next summer for free and whom we have zero idea if hes 100% or ever will be.

WTF do the Lakers HAVE that would set anyone up for a Decade? Are they giving SAS their regional TV deal?

He's just going off some other guys speculation that's a few tweets before the one you posted. Everyone's posting hearsay and theories right now.

With what? An expensive Tayshaun Prince(Ingram) and a scrub that puts up inflated numbers on a lotto team(Kuzma). LA media overhyping their garbage young "talent" like always.

Well I read multiple first rounders. Can they even do that per Stepian rule?

I interpret the "Godfather offer" as an offer they cant refuse - which if youve watched the movies, means either they succumb to the Godfather or they get killed.

So essentially, the Lakers are saying "youre going to take this small offering of ours or face the consequences" - which I imagine is KL threatening to leave every team he is traded to besides the LAL.

RC needs to tell Magic to piss off of this is his offer for a top 3 player in the world. Kawhi will be a Sixer or Celtic if true.

Wojnarowski: The Lakers are willing to include former No. 2 overall pick Brandon Ingram and a future first-round pick in a package for Leonard, but the Spurs are seeking a far more complete haul of Lakers young players and future picks, league sources said.

The Laker picks aren’t really gonna be worth much if they get Kawhi and Lebron

Celtics seemed to have the best package in young players and picks with Brown, Rozier, salary dump and pick(s) for Leonard. However, I'm hearing Ainge may go for a straight swap of Kyrie Irving (player option for 2019-20) for Leonard. The latter seems like a better move for the Celtics.

Could they move some pieces around for Lebron after this?

No, we’re not. Spurs are going to get lowballed no matter what they get in return. And if the reports of the Lakers offering Ingram + a 1st Rounder are true, Spurs will close the door on the Lakers and Kawhi will be trade to PHI or BOS for another weak package.

Spurs are doing their best to maximize value, but its only 1 year of KL.

Ultimately, neither BOS or LAL will give up all of their youth to do the deal.
