Can’t wait to see our guys in summer league, but especially how well Graham runs the team. I really like this guy, a great pick by Mitch and JB.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

After watching this I think Graham will be looked back on as the steal of the draft, it's incredible that he lasted all the way to 34. He might already be the most gifted passer on the team. I think he needs to play now, we don't need to sign another point guard.

Agreed, this guy looks like a real baller and a class act too. He shoots well from outside (mid-range needs work though), can dribble and has the intangibles. He should play a lot so we can see what he has at the pro level.

He looks to pass first once he gets into the lane, I think that's why he isn't comfortable pulling up for a jumpshot. I'm fine with that tendency, he has great vision on the move so he should use that skill as much as possible.

Maybe he ends up being the reverse Jameer Nelson
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I like this guy opposite Lamb. I think he should split minutes with Monk at backup point while Lamb gets the majority backup 2 minutes.

JB basically counted Graham out as the backup PG this season in an interview, I think it's a mistake especially without seeing him in Summer League yet. I just see Graham as a guy that works his tail off and forces you to give him minutes. I just can't see him not contributing at all this season. This kid is a special talent.

Whoever they sign it should be a 1 year deal (unless it's someone like Tyreke Evans or Dante Exum). I think Graham will end up beating them out for minutes by the end of the season, so it would be foolish to commit to someone beyond a year.

I'm glad the team drafted Devonte, but realistically it takes a PG something like 3 years to fully adjust to the NBA. Maybe with 4 years of college Devonte will prove the exception to that, but until he proves it, the team is better off playing it safe.

Yeah people gotta stop acting like he will instantly be ready to be a full time back up of Kemba. Man hasn’t even played summer league here. Let’s wait and see how good he ends up being. Just cause he played till senior year, doesn’t mean he is NBA ready. I mean Frank came to us after his senior year and he looked like a wild goose as a rookie (still kinda does)
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

In one of Mitch's interviews, he outright said that he's not comfortable with forcing JB to rely on a rookie PG.

I think its not fair to him to force him into a full role as a rookie but I hope he is in the back end of the rotation every game not just buried.

I like Graham and I had him as the second best PG left on the board behind Tony Carr when he was selected. What I don't like about his selection is that we used 2 picks on him and I also felt there was better talent still left on the board in Metu, Newman, Spallding, Carr, Kelan Martin, Watanabe and Edwards. But he was in that group of those players that I just mentioned so I'm not upset with it. Just would have rather kept that other second rounder.

We are all very well aware that you love all those future Chinese basketball association players, but notice that most of those guys weren't even drafted by ANYONE and we could have (and still can for the most part) sign them for no draft picks. I feel like you watch more G-League than NBA...

As far as Graham goes I really like the pick...he's a baller and a winner. But as others have said, you cant count on a rookie to log solid minutes at PG. He may be able to handle it but you cant count on it. He will get some minutes and hopefully be ready to be a full time backup next year.

It's going to be funny when Graham ends up taking all of Monk's minutes. A #34 pick contributing first year is not uncommon at all and this guy fills an immediate hole. He'll have to beat out Monk, which shouldn't be too hard at backup point. We obviously need someone on that unit that can pass the ball when you have scorers such as Lamb, Kaminsky, and Willy.

I'd honestly be perfectly fine with Monk and Graham getting the backup PG minutes as long as we stagger a playmaker in the second unit with them. Whether it's Batum or this mystery MLE "ball handler" we've heard we are signing.

I'll be shocked if Graham touches the floor the first couple months of the season except for pre-game shootaround.

Why exactly? He's not some project pick.

The guy is a 4 year player at Kansas that increased his assist rate each year

2.1 -> 3.7 -> 4.1 -> 7.2

Monk's primary problem last season was taking too many shots and not passing enough. I see this guy as a pick that says we f'ed up and going to insert him into the slot and make us better.

My brother watches a **** ton of prep hoops. He had asked me who the Hornets drafted and I told him "Miles Bridges and Devonte Graham." Upon hearing Graham, he goes "Really?! Oh cool! I've actually talked to him before, he's a really cool dude."

So I guess he gets my seal of approval.
