But to sign Gordon to an offer sheet - they will need to waive both Big Al and Collison - or do a sign and trade. Wonder if the Suns could get Collison for cheap - one year PG option.

Thad must have put his feelers out and realized he'd only get the MLE on the FA market.

Daniels for Collison? Pretty sure we have more lofty goals than that.

Not surprising but I was hoping they wouldn't. I think he's a possible target but it sucks they would now need to do a multi year deal and mini can match.

Collison = only 2 mil of his 10 mil is guaranteed.

Re: Trade and free agency speculation
Pacers can still get to about $25M in cap space by waiving Collison and Jefferson's partially guaranteed contracts, so I wouldn't completely rule them out of Aaron Gordon

Where there is smoke there’s fire? Could be an agreement in the works between us and them?

Perhaps. More so Cavs just assuming LBJ is gone and no longer are looking to court players in their prime

Not sure the Pacers would wave Collison to go after Gordon. He was an important part of their team last year - led the league in 3pt% I believe. Either way, Orlando will likely match unless Indiana can put together a good sign and trade package. If it came to that I think the Suns would be able to beat Indy. I like Gordon’s fit for the Suns and expect McD to try to get involved.

Yeah I never really understood why they would want to move on from Collison. He had a nice year for them and I can't see the Pacers want to turn the PG job over to a rookie since they should be a playoff team in the east. I can't see anyway they would waive Collison to sign Gordon to an offer sheet since in that scenario they could potentially do it and still not get Gordon is Orlando matches. I guess it's possible they call up Orlando and offer Collison as part of a S&T and then look to backfill the PG spot with the money they have left over.

What about Corey Joseph - saves the Pacers same amount of money - about $8m to the cap. But you are right, Orlando probably matches

It's funny he mentions the showtime lakers since they were fueled by the aquisition of Kareem after he forced his way out of Milwaukee.

You talking about Eric Gordon as being a good fit for the Suns because Aaron Gordon is definitely not a good fit for the suns

I am absolutely talking about Aaron Gordon. Good defender, switchable, capable passer, shown a little bit as a shooter, good rebounder, can grab and go. Still only 22. As a third option scorer his efficiency becomes less of an issue. If your gripe is money then I get it, but he’s a good fit skill-wise. Not to mention much better than Chriss or Warren.

Re: Trade and free agency speculation
Can we just get some reasonable vet PG and call our team done? I don't want any "big trade". We got 58 young players to develop and new promising coach to work with them. Let's focus on this, hope we can get as many wins as possible and stop acting like we can be a contender next year.

Re: Trade and free agency speculation
Don't think those Lonzo rumors are realistic for us and I get that he's a Laker, but it's kind of hard to understand why people think he's not a good prospect (or player). Both BPM and RPM have him as a clear positive player in his rookie season despite shooting and scoring terribly, he's already a very good defender (not defending the point of attack, but good at guarding bigger wings), a great rebounder for his position, a very good cutter and his passing & unselfish play is contagious. Suns have been a terrible passing team for years and could use some help in that.
Most likely will never be a good shooter despite having a great shooting season in college, but if he becomes even league average, he's going to be really valuable. Obviously his father is a total tool but what ever.

If I’m mistaken about this, (which I don’t think I am because I believe I read it in an espn or si article) he must be one of very few to have been afforded this luxury.
It makes you feel bad for guys like Rob Hennigan (who was terrible but never got the leash that McD did) etc.
I think Babby still had a big say in things the first two years of McDonough's tenure until he stepped down in 2015.
