Re: Transaction Discussion Part 3 (Trades, Free-Agency, News, Rumors & Ideas)
Winning a chip with the franchise that has been dubbed the worst franchise in sports and one as "cursed" as this one should end any discussions about him not being GOAT.
Should also give him incentive to sign here....a challenge...something to pursue.
Should attract CP3 back as well as we know they want to play together at least one year before they retire and I think he has enough love for CP3 that he wouldn't want the "I did it here and you didn't" bragging rights.
Honestly (if I'm LeBron), as big as the Lakers are, the fans will never call me a top 3 Laker. They'll always pick Kobe and Magic over me. Winning with the Clippers adds to my legacy and legend. Winning for the Lakers just gives them #17.

Orlando magic guy here,
Will you draft Sexton for us at 12 then trade him for Biyombo + 35th + 41st? Why? Jordan UFA. He's leaving (most likely).
Biyombo need a Doc River kind of coach: stable, experienced and player's coach. His Toronto stint 8reb 2blk 6pts in 22 min/g , all dipped when he arrived Orlando. He is still serviceable at the right environment. Also his contract expires in 2 years, that can be an asset down the road. So even without Jordan, this roster can still compete!
Austin/Milos/Pat Bev
Lou / Grayson (35)
Tobias / WJohnson / Vanderbilt (41)
Gallo / Harrell / Spellman (13)
Biyombo / Boban

Surely you meant 6th instead of 41st? Even then I don't think they do it...

Because of his contract, biyombo has negative trade value. The magic would have to give up a first round pick to get some team to take him. Same situation with the lakers with lull deng. Probably the same with the Clippers and Gallinari although he can still play significant minutes when healthy.

Sure as long as you draft Doncic/Bamba at #6 and deal him with a S&T Gordon for Gallo and a 2021 second

The phone went into the Pacific when you said Biyom.... Not a chance.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Lol compete for what? Clippers have no reason to "replace" Jordan. If he leaves, that's cap space. Biyombo has no value to LAC, Harrell is quite capable and a much better player who can just be moved to C which is where he played most of his minutes anyways.
The Clippers are giving up a lottery pick for two seconds and the "privilege" of adding a large contract for two more seaons

From http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/page/underestimated23835835/2018-nba-draft-trades-best-deals-see:
Memphis might possess one of the worst contracts in the league and almost exclusively because of health. When the Grizzlies signed Parsons to a four-year, $94 million deal in 2016, he was supposed to be the shooting wing creator long missing to buttress Mike Conley and Marc Gasol.
In Gallo, the Grizzlies get to roll the dice a second time on said wing creator in the Conley-Gasol era while shaving $3 million off their payroll to slide back eight spots and pick up a second lottery pick.
The Clippers get a potential foundational piece in Doncic or Bamba to build on the ashes of Lob City for the price of a modest payroll increase and loss of a second pick. The second lottery pick might be the sticking point, though, as Parsons is unlikely to be healthier than Gallo. And, of course, LA's sights should remain focused on acquiring Kawhi Leonard, the disgruntled Finals MVP in San Antonio, as its chief priority.
COMMENT: I don't think they're suggesting they've heard this as a rumor, just that they like the idea. If there's anything to it, Parsons and Gallo are pretty much the same guy, so it's just 12/13 for 4 that matters, and assuming Doncic or Bamba is available, yeah, I'd roll those dice.

Re: Transaction Discussion Part 3 (Trades, Free-Agency, News, Rumors & Ideas)
With 2 days left until the draft, here is what I would do this offseason (based on discussions in threads with fans of other teams).
Trade 1 (Would have to wait and happen after the draft and July 1st so we don’t go into the tax for the 2017-18 year before July 1st):
Gallinari/Rights to #12 to ORL
Ross/Mack/Teodosic/‘19 Second from DET via LAC /‘20 Second from CLE via LAC to DEN
Millsap/‘19 ORL First (Top 3 Protected) to LAC
In the Magic forum, they said they would be willing to take on Gallo for expirings and trade next year’s pick if that meant them being able to get SGA or Walker at #12 in addition to whoever they draft at #6. The Nuggets also want to shed $$ to get out of the luxury tax and have a glut of PFs. While they want to get rid of Faried first, here they get to keep #14, save $15M (since Milos and Mack have only $3.2 guaranteed between the 2 of them). Plus they get 2 future 2nds back. The Clippers get a solid PF in Millsap and a good future pick to flip.
Trade 2 (also after July 1st)
Harris to PHX
Dudley/Chriss/Rights to #13/Rights to #16/‘19 ORL First (Top 3 Protected)/‘19 MIL First via PHX to SAS
Leonard to LAC
In a thread about a month ago, a Suns fan proposed, Harris for Dudley/Chriss/#16/‘19 MIL First, which I think would be more appealing to the Spurs if they trade Kawhi and rebuild. Then add in our 13th pick and next year’s first from the Magic and we have a really good offer for Kahwi built around 4 first round picks, a young prospect in Chriss, and an expiring contract in Dudley. Then the Clippers get Kawhi.
Resign Avery Bradley 1yr/16mil - I know he won’t get this on the open market but we pay a premium to make it a one year deal. Plus AB might look at it as a way to rebuild his value to get a bigger deal next offseason.
Resign Montrezl Harrell 1yr/5mil - We all want Trez back. I don’t know what his market will be like, but again we should keep it to a 1 year deal.
Sign Richard Jefferson 1yr/min - Wing depth and veteran leadership.
Sign Anthony Tolliver 1yr/mMLE - Solid 3&D and great locker room/glue guy. Shot 43% from 3 last year.
Beverly/Rivers/Evans
Bradley/Williams/Thornwell
Leonard/Johnson/Jefferson
Millsap/Tolliver/Dekker
Jordan/Harrell/Marjanovic
Yes we would be in the luxury tax but this team would also probably be a top 4-5 seed team in the west again. Plus we would only be in the luxury tax for one year since the only guaranteed contract past this year would be Lou. We would have Kawhi’s bird rights and could pair Kawhi and Lou with 2 other max contracts. This team would also probably be the best defensive team in the NBA with all-defensive team players at each position in the starting lineup.

Stein suggesting in his newsletter that Paul George might be staying on a 1+1 deal in OKC, that would strengthen the pool of FA for next year and benefit us a lot.

Would the Clippers be willing to trade the 13th pick to move Gallo for expiring contracts? Could see Utah being interested in something like that.

for whatever reason t/t is in love with the idea that the clips would trade the 13 just to offset gallo's contract.
in reality the 13 is really valuable (all things considered) and they also find gallo a useful player, so they aren't gonna burn one asset to get rid of another.
in case you didn't notice, t/t is obsessed with absolute values but they don't always take into account the context of a situation.

Hope that stuff is true. Unless his salary demand is out of proportion (and he seems like the kind of guy who wouldn't do that), Harris is the kind of player you keep. Productive, good citizen, good teammate, doesn't draw a lot of attention to himself. If I were a star player looking for a great supporting cast, I'd want guys like Harris on it.
