I don't know that anyone pushed for a huge deal for Van Vleet here. Sidery posted the outrage idea and a few others on twitter talked about it. I think everyone here said its outrageous.
I've mentioned my top few choices a number of times and wanting to do one year deals. But there were some here that recognize VanVleet has talent and wouldn't mind him at a reasonable cost.
And I believe the user you just responded to liked Doncic.
The deal Sidery outlined is probably the one we'd have to offer for the Raps not to match.
Except for DeRozan - the Raptors cap actually improves in two years when the bigger dollars kick in as Lowry, JVal, Ibaka and Miles come off the books. So, if truly one of these poison pills are offered, that's how the Raptors can match as well. Unless these poison pills are averaged out and not 8.5 8.5 20 and 20 but say 14m per year.
If the Suns want a RAptors PG - Lowry might be VERY obtainable for a pretty cheap price tag. I am talking Daniels, Chandler and Warren (or Knight). Raptors would have to suck it up this year but next year would probably be under the lux tax, have Van Vleet with Warren.
