I think they will as long as they've made it known "you know, us dealing with you is going to require an extra asset regardless of actual value, right"? :D

And that's a good point. Say they are totally against that, then it's keeping that close to the vest, and using a potential LAL offer as leverage. What's the best hypothetical LAL trade to use as leverage... And leverage vs whom? Boston, right?

Ingram, Kuzma, Ball are still well short of Kawhi's salary and Deng almost matches by himself.

How does this trade work?

Ingram, Kuzma, Ball ... NO DENG. This is according to Bill Simmons. It's a slight overpay, to be sure, but Lakers are desperate to land LeBron and Lebron is in win now mode. If you can put two top 5 players on your roster you do what it takes.

I think Leonard and LeBron to LA has been wrapped up since Jeanie Buss's cocky tweet a week or two ago. The shocking thing will be the 3rd star or how they fill out the Lakers roster - doesn't seem it will be PG13 anymore.

The same as it has for a week. Bron has landed in LA, Magic will run it past. If Bron is happy it’s go go go. Spurs will ring Philly one last time and we’ll all get to watch.

Randle (S&T) + Kuzma + 2020 1st is our best offer.

Deng + 2022 to the Hawks

Can’t imagine there’s a scenario where Ingram isn’t included, he will be the starting point of any and all discussions for the Spurs.

Plus the Randle sign and trade gets tricky because you’re asking him to commit to a team and a dollar figure as a favor to the the two teams involved and without exploring the market. Not sure why that’s attractive for Randle unless the Spurs ageee to top all possible offers, which would be silly from their standpoint.

Also the Hawks aren’t taking Deng’s awful contract for a late 1st in 2022. Why would they do that? Better off to included him in the Kwaii trade and add any assets to that deal needed to balance that. He’ll likely be needed as salary filler anyways and the more salary the Spurs take on, the better it is for the Lakers.

Then trade Ingram, Lakers future 1st, Chandler + Denver future 1st for Kawhi. Lakers then trade Ball and Deng to the Suns for future protected 1st. Then possibly sign James and George with cap spaceLineup afterwards:

G - filler
G - George
F - Leonard
F - JAMES
C - Lopez or Randle

How do the Suns do it cap wise? They can open 18m easy but Deng and Ball are way over that. I assume y9u also take back a Dudley.

Yeah, I think the Lakers are desperate to sign Lebron therefore they will be far more willing to bend over backwards to make a deal. SAS can be patient here, since as stated there is no way Lebron signs with LA if they don't have another star on the roster.

Hawks aren't taking Deng for 1 pick 4 years away. That eats up all their salary cap as well.
