@IanBegley
On the Sixers and a potential trade for Kawhi Leonard, it’s worth noting that there are several people with Philadelphia who feel confident that Leonard would strongly consider re-signing there next summer if they traded for him.

She lived in Cleveland, I think she'll be fine in a mini NYC.

No all reports are we have offered Rozier, Morris and the Sac pick but have been unwilling to offer Jaylen Brown.

Ainge offered Rozier/Morris/Sac pick for Kawhi?

Pretty much all reports have said Boston has been unwilling to add Tatum or Brown so yes that’s the likely package Ainge has sent out so far.

I mean yes, every city is significantly smaller than NYC in America. But Philly is not exactly a ghost town, I don't know why people here act like Philly is such a poor destination - it really isn't and historically speaking it hasn't been, players don't go to Philly now because they have sucked for a really long time not because it's a small market (it's like the 5th biggest city in USA).

I will agree to disagree. But a Celtics package with those those assets would seem to outbid Philly pretty easily. That’s not even factoring in potential sign and trade scenarios for Marcus Smart.

Rozier has no place in this trade. That's even more true after SA drafted another guard and signed on in free agency (and had Danny opt in). Getting a high-upside guy with the size to defend three positions is one thing, but an expiring with Rozier was never going to be the guy.

And did you just try to bring in Smart? I know everyone has their own opinions, but packages built around Rozier and Smart just don't... I mean I'd rather have Kuzma...

You feelings on Rozier and Smart are similar to how I feel about RoCo and Saric. Covington is basically the Philly version of Jae Crowder. Saric is solid but similar to Rozier is expecting to get paid. Neither of those guys are future all stars in the making.

But Jaylen Brown/Sac pick and Memphis pick >>>> Fultz and Miami pick.

You are right that it only matters what San Antonio thinks. But based off their history of drafting Smart and tough players that can shoot. Does Fultz really strike you as someone they would highly value based on that history? I don’t see any scenario where they value Fultz close to a player like Jaylen Brown.

ya you are right... 1st team all defender and top 10 overal real plus minus player covington on a great contract is def JUST LIKE crowder

lmao, I love celtic fans

I think the Spurs value Saric higher than you think they do. Absolute definition of a Popovich type player. I can easily see him being an all-star type player playing for Pop.

And just when Philly and the Spurs finally agree on a KL trade, Ainge picks up the phone and beats any offer so that Philly super team never happens

Saric has two years left, which puts him over Rozier even ignoring position and general utility. SA wouldn't have to worry about paying him until after Aldridge's expensive year is over. I do think Covington is overrated. But I also think that as a fill-in at SF, he's the best they're going to do and he's tremendous for ballast. He can always be traded for something else later, as the Spurs should be able to hold his production up just fine.

The Spurs drafted Walker and Murray recently. They aren't afraid of guys who have upside but need seasoning. I do think they would have valued Fultz more before the draft, but I also think the same applies to Brown. I personally really like Jaylen, and him, Murray and Walker on the perimeter would be pretty amazing to consider. I do think in terms of upside, Fultz is still better and has one more cheap year than Brown does, and SA can afford to be patient with Fultz due to their roster situation. I'm just not convinced Brown can be an every-game small-forward. He can probably handle the position most games, but against the best players in the league, he feels too small. If Pop feels differently, then the whole package has a different feel.

If Brown and both picks are on the table, I definitely agree that Philly would likely have to scramble to beat the Celtics offer. If just one of the picks is offered, and especially if just the picks and not Brown are on the table, then the overall benefit of Philly's package is higher for me. They're offering win-now players at positions of need, a high-upside prospect with three years left on his deal and an interesting future first. That's a great mix of value for a team like SA that believes in maintaining a rolling window.

I think even he would be ready to offer fair value for once if it means killing any hope of a KL+LBJ+Embiid+Simmons team

Trust me, I was laughing just as much at the Covington, Saric, and Miami pick offer. :)

if they can do that and also trade for kawhi w/o giving up embiid or simmons, that would be crazy.
