The only scenario Kawhi ends in Philly (over a Boston package) is if they trade Simmons or Embiid for him, and they won't. The Spurs aren't trading Kawhi for Fultz and other unproven parts. Why would they?

Not sure I buy that. There has been a certain amount of noise (that I buy into a bit) about how Lebron and Simmons will be a bad fit, because they both dominate the ball so much (esp because Simmons's shot ain't there yet). Consider something like

Simmons + Filler for Kawhi + SAS pick(?s?) + SAS Roleplayers (Mills? Green?)

I'm not sure that even Tatum + picks (SAC, MEM) trumps that...

I'm not sure that the Celtics can offer a better package than the Sixers, but I would say at least a comparable package. I don't see Brown as superstar potential. I would say they're all pretty close in the following order:

1. Brown (Highest ceiling, good contract)
2. Covington (All NBA defensive team, great contract, 3&D)
3. Saric (High ceiling, great contract)
4. Rozier (Clutch in playoffs, lower ceiling, one more year before pay increase)
...
5. Smart (Good in playoffs, lower ceiling, free agent looking for big pay day)

Then you have other pretty good assets like Smith, SAC Pick, MIA Pick which either team could add.

FYI, I'm considering Kyrie, Hayward, Tatum, Embiid, Simmons, and Fultz off the table. Simmons, Embiid, Tatum should be untouchable. Kyrie, Hayward, Fultz are high risk/high reward with their more value to their respective team than the Spurs.

All this being said, are there reports that BOS is seriously pursuing Leonard?

So much for that report that he already made his decision.

Brown is better than the entire SIxers package put together.

He's not. Constantly insisting that it is doesn't make it true.

If that's the case, why wouldn't you try to trade package centered around Brown for Kawhi. Seems like a no-brainer...

Honestly, I don’t see why Simmons + Bayless for Kawhi + whatever cheap roleplayers the Sixers want isn’t a great deal for both sides. Yeah, Simmons has incredible upside but he still can’t shoot, and a starting lineup of Bron/RoCo/Kawhi/Saric/Embiid would be absolutely unstoppable. Like how do you ever score on that team? They’d be immediate favorites to win it all. And Kawhi just turned 27 two days ago so you still have a lot of years being great even once Bron’s past it.

We aren't trading Simmons. He's untouchable and even if we did decide to make him available it wouldn't be for a rental.

Stop.

Fultz, Miami's 2021 pick, Saric and Convington is actually a great haul for the Spurs. I take that over any package Boston could put together unless they throw in Tatum.

lebron already knows everything he needs to know about los angeles, but he doesn't about philly, ergo why he's there and why his team is in la.

Ben Simmons is repped by LeBron's management company. I'm sure they've had may conversations about the team.

Brown, Rozier, Morris, Yasbule, etc plus Celtics have 4 first round picks to offer next year or the following. Easily could top Philly sans Simmons being involved.

Not seeing it. SA would have to move half those picks just to avoid eating a bunch of money by waiving guys.
