I feel your pain since I am in Harrisburg, PA and it is just as hot. The wife went shopping, I stayed home to Fortnite and refresh Realgm all day

One more day of this nonsense followed by another hot but slightly cooler day.

Maybe he would maybe he wouldnt but he's Brad's pupil and he has signed it so you can't really go backwards? There's no chance we're trading him this off-season. Zero.

To get under the luxury tax threshold for this year, they’d have to trade Melo (a stretch keeps him on the books for $9 million for the next three years), then either Adams or Roberson and Singler and/or Patterson.

Best case is that they dump Melo and then the luxury tax threshold goes up next summer.

They’re basically Toronto Midwest now - Russ, PG, Adams is their core and they don’t have much flexibility to get better.

That said, two of those guys are MVP caliber at their best, and Adams is young enough to keep improving. They can be an elite defensive team next year and the offensive chemistry may be better with Melo out of the way, but they’re going to be hanging around the playoffs hoping for a lucky run.

Paul George has never been MVP-caliber, man.

George was getting close before his injury, and he's had some major playoff scoring runs. I think he can be an MVP candidate absolutely. He's getting paid like one.

Hayward will turn 30 in March 2020. So in July 2020, he will have completed 10 seasons and probably will be eligible for a deal starting between $35-40 million. Maybe more if online gambling increases the cap much more than anticipated over the next two years.

By then Kyrie would be earning over $35 million if he's still on the team. Jaylen Brown would be an RFA that summer as well.

Do you give him a new deal, hope that he opts out of that $34.2 million salary and signs with someone else or he opts in for one last year?

I guess it would depend on whether this roster has won any titles by that time or how close they've been, whether Hayward has had big playoffs runs for the Celtics in the next two seasons.
