Game shouldn’t have even gone to penalties, that ball from Modric was beauty and worthy of game winning moment

Great foul though. And a shame he didn’t convert the penalty.

Reminded me of Suarez handball years ago. Penalty was saved and Uruguay went on. Unfortunately for Denmark, Croatia still managed the win.

Sucks that Denmark went out. Always like the Danish national team for the longest.

Problem with penalities after 120 min is simple:
you are dead tired, most of players already,at that point have 13-14 km runned
and pressure of moment gets in their heads easly. Goalkeeper has adventage because nobody really expects him to save it, if he does it's great, by championsleague stats, 75% of penalities are connected, only 16% of them are saved and 9% are total miss.
But we saw over two games of WC how players crumble under pressure, and not some average players, but elite ones..

To be honest, the Danes deserved to take this one. Croatia sucked ass the whole game, but this is football. This is why I have such a love/hate relationship with this sport.

I literally couldn't watch Rakitic shooting.
After yelling like mad man for 5 min i broke down in tears .

I did not watch the game due to family situation - saved me some neurons. Stil when I read the recap and saw highlights it hurts like crazy. Such a historic opportunity wasted. At least Eriksen and Schone had somewhat decent shots, but that last penalty by Jorgensen was pathetic. Not sure why Sisto was not taking the last one, fresh legs and much better striker than Jorgensen

Uruguay is not making it to the finals, lol. They'd need to get past France and Brazil. Croatia certainly have a chance though, although I don't think they'll get past Spain.

nothing is certain in football. and i did not depend on fifa rankings to make this prediction but actual strength of their gameplay in the group stages.

This has nothing to do with FIFA rankings. France and Brazil are just stacked at every position.

Uruguay also had an easy group stage (not that group stage performance means much).

I like Uruguay, but they're badly outclassed by France and Brazil.

well, it seems you suck at predictions. banking on spain, france, and brazil purely on their reputations. as i said, i made my prediction based on something more than just reputation or appearance. stacked at every position means nothing in the world of numbers. i've been perfect since i posted this: viewtopic.php?p=67133767#p67133767

i'll be updating my predictions for the Quarterfinals and on as more numbers have come in. this is my updated prediction now:

Quarterfinals: Uruguay vs France = Uruguay. Brazil v Belgium = Belgium. Russia v Croatia = Croatia. Sweden v England = England.
Semis: Uruguay v Belgium = Belgium. Croatia v England = Croatia
Finals: Belgium vs Croatia = Belgium

i predict my quarterfinals prediction will hold. the semis and finals might still change as more numbers come in, but as of right now, the quarterfinals prediction is already locked in. the numbers for those matches are already final.

Your predictions are based on gut feeling. Of course upsets can happen in a 1-game elimination, but they're unlikely. Superior talent will win out most of the time.

There are no numbers that will tell you that Uruguay > France or Brazil.

0-2 so far this round Mr. Nostradamus. What happened?

Before you try to backtrack, you changed your QF pick to Brazil in the other thread.

0-2 wtf you talking about? Uruguay-France is the only match i was wrong about. rest were correct. check the time stamp in the other thread. that Brazil pick was the older one. i updated my picks after the round of 16 ended (new numbers came in). you can also check the time stamp here and see that i made my QF predictions right before the QF started.

i'm updating my picks in the semis. France vs Belgium = Belgium. Croatia vs England = England (England is getting stronger as the world cup goes on)
