I'd go after Tyreke Evans or Jabari Parker with a large 1 year deal. It could help make a run at the playoffs with our young guys.

Two questions.

1) Why go after Jabari Parker given our front court has Markkanen/Lopez/Portis/Carter?
2) Why push for the playoffs? If we get there with our young players then great but otherwise it doesn't help.

Play Jabari at the 3. Making the playoffs would be a great look for free agents next season.

Parker can't play the 3.

Yes he can. Can't guard the 3 great, but not much better guarding the 4 either. Offensively he's fine there. Has the perimeter skills to take people off the dribble and to post up smaller players. Also can shoot well enough to stretch the floor.

I can envision almost no scenario where I wouldn’t be furious if we spent money on him.

A big 1+1 Niko styled offer of 2 years 40M (2nd year TO) on Jabari would be a fantastic low risk use of our excess cap space IMO.

1+1 deal or 3 year contract with s 3rd year team option wouldn't be too bad. Nothing longer than that.

That would give him the option to stay another season after playing 30-50 games for us...

There are still plenty of very good unsigned free-agents out there, especially the restricted ones. Here is a list: Aaron Gordon, Julius Randle, Jabari Parker, Tyreke Evans, Nerlens Noël, Avery Bradley, KCP, Capella, LaVine, Greg Monroe, JJ Reddick. Restricted free-agency is crazy business because no team likes getting their offers matched.

Love Jabari but he looks pretty mediocre since he's come back from his last injury. I thought for sure he would turn it up in the playoffs, no dice.

Coaching was the reason he didn’t play in the playoffs and Parker was pretty pissed about. I think it’s unlikely the Bucks match any deal for him at this point in their relationship.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

If Marvin Bagley III can play the 3, then so can Jabari.

Statistically he didn't regress at all.

That's cool but, he doesn't resemble the player he was a couple seasons ago when Milwaukee looked like they had next in the NBA. Nor does he have the impact.

No player does when they first come back from an ACL tear.

Jabari really is Melo Lite

And this for the one saying he didn’t really look like his old self. He was close to it for a 30 game sample size. Bucks still don’t know how use him right tho

Might want to correct yourself there Dez because I just asked the Bucks board and they unanimously said he's an SF.

My guess is Jabari is a contingency for if Lavine demands too much. An either/or thing. Because having those defenders on the wing is pretty impossible to overcome teambuilding wise.

The same issue is going to apply for Parker though, even more so most likely. As far as I'm aware, Parker was previously demanding the max.

Seemed a bit baseless though, no one's going to offer him that, market or no market (of which latter is the case).

I think at least one of these guys has a reality check that their range is around 15m and not heaps higher, and I think Jabari would love to come here also. Maybe that's enough to dissuade Lavine to bring his price down a few mil.
