Always love watching the mighty lakers strike out but they are not dead yet. KL and cousins are still real options.
Save for the fluke in 2016 when the cap spiked Lebron may be starting realizing that creating a super team isn't as easy as it once was.
I think it is more likely he just stay in the east for a year and this starts over again in 2019 when KL is a FA.

I would love to see Lakers sign Cousins. Tie up that cap space with dead money! Of course he’ll probably agree to 2 years 24 million with player option so he can get max next year.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Re: Around the NBA 2018-2019 (Non-Celtics Talk)
I feel like Lebron talking to Philly is all about who can get Kawhi.
If Philly has a chance to land both , it almost forces us to up our offer for Kawhi so we can block them from happening. Such a weird situation.
This does reek of desperation on Lebrons part. I think he expected PG and him to sign with LA. Then trading for Kawhi would be inevitable. Now with PG back to OKC their really isn’t an awesome option out there. Kawhi and Lebron on LA isnt enough to beat GS.

Lebron and simmons both needing the ball.
Simmons with zero off ball abilities.
Love to kick their asses in the playoffs every year

The truth is that Lebron doesn’t need the ball. If he wanted to he could be a great catch and shoot player, a great low post player, a great lob player etc. If he was willing to let Simmons play the point a lot of the time, he could focus on being a scoring machine. Would he be willing is the question.

That is exactly what would happen. It has been reported that Lebron wants to play off the ball this upcoming season. Sixers would be a good fit if that is the case.

I find it hilarious LeBron is in LA but can't take the time to go to the meeting himself. He's not going to philly.

PG threw a monkey wrench in Lebrons plans. I just don't see him signing in LA just with the current roster the Lakers have. We have to disagree about the sixers. Think they have a legit shot. Lebron signs there the sixers are immediately favorites to come out of the east.

Re: Around the NBA 2018-2019 (Non-Celtics Talk)
Couple reasons why Lebron and the Sixers aren't that great of a match
The Sixers youth is good but VERY overrated.
Philly as a destination where his kids are now (in highschool) is big deal to no consider. If Mrs James has to choose between LA or Philly....well...
Biggest of all...because the team was already built around Simmons and Embid...Lebron doesn't have the control that he has in Cleveland or LA. For example his mid season housecleaning isn't going to fly...
Lastly, the argument that team is only Lebron James away from contending can pretty much be said about for more than half of the teams in the league. Philly just has the means to do it. BTW his team was just IN the finals. He can just stay there.

Given how big men continue to be devalued and his recent injury if I was Cousins I'd be going for years on top of the money. Get paid now. Who knows what payday awaits in the future. Don't be Noel, be Zydrunas Ilgauskas.

LeBron would be smart to go to Houston if he’s serious about knocking down GSW. Philadelphia isn’t it unless some drastic upgrades occur outside of his addition.

Fairly sure this explains Danny's meddling in this case. Drive the price up so that the cupboard is bare when the stars arrive.
This tweet here is LeBron attempting to take away the Spurs leverage wrt a Lakers trade.
I also call BS on his crew saying he didn't text Durant. Of course they are going to deny that. I fully believe he texted KD.
Oh he did. Dude is bitch made.

Boogie getting an offer from the Wiz is the most Wiz thing ever. The nice thing is he'd be reunited with his best bud from college.
