Lonzo is pretty easily the best prospect of the three though. just the Lavar factor is a big problem

Don't blame him for doing so at all, Dan Gilbert is probably the most incompetent owner in the league next to Ranadive in Sacramento. Those 1+1 deals put pressure on him to make win now moves to maximize his chances to win in his prime. The 4 year deal with the Lakers gives Magic/Pelinka the assurance, confidence to make win now moves while thinking long term; there's a lot of mutual trust/confidence between the two parties.

I am surprised about the 4 years. I can see why Lakers from family and fame standpoint, but I thought he would take a 1+1 or 2+1so that he could align it for one final big contract

4 year deal tells me Lebron wants to retire in Los Angeles and this is more about his family. If he was ring chasing I would expect him to go to Philly not the Lakers.
