Depends.... If you thought the Cavs last year would of stood a chance at a championship if Houston had come out of the West then that Lakers squad is a contender cause that roster is much better then the CavsMr Loggins wrote:Jazz9 wrote:jonjames wrote:2018-2019 Lakers Roster
Lonzo Ball
Brandon Ingram
LeBron James
Julius Randle
Demarcus Cousins
What would people expect of that team?
(serious question, not trying to say it's bad or anything)
i think HOU and GSW bounce them

LA is going to be a f***ing circus with all their pro teams. And college teams. Perfect for LA. Hopefully fans actually show up to the Rams games. They might be the best team in the NFL on paper.

why would he? Lebron gets a couple of rings that wont stop kobe being a greatest laker.
Magic, Kareem, Wilt, Shaq, West all significantly better than Kobe. And now add LeBron.

It's not the best win-now spot, and I expected basketball to come first for him, but there's no way for me to know what I'd do in his situation, so I can't judge. LA does have some nice young players, and he obviously feels good about their chances of landing Kawhi and/or the right pieces in the next few years, so that's that.
It's going to be weird taking up for a Laker against the anti-LBJ crowd now, but it's no secret that a good percentage of that crew rolls purp-and-gold, so what happens with that sub-narrative is a quantity unkown; watching all this unfold will be fascinating.
In a way, it's win/win for the anti-LBJ Laker fans: either their team wins titles or they get to beat the 'Kobe>LeBron' drum even harder and we can't call them on it the same way because they can say 'hey, he's one of our own, we're just being objective'; in that sense, Laker Nation wins yet again, and as a Spurs fan, naturally I'm just super-thrilled for them.
Ha ha. On the real, this injects some much-needed drama and uncertainty into the league, so I'm pretty happy about it-- finally, some intrigue! It's going to be weird pulling for GS if we get an all-Cali playoff matchup between those two, but that's what I'll have to do-- especially if LA gets Kawhi.
Congratulations, Laker Nation!
