Was never ready to take the rumors seriously until it materialized. Holy ****.

I’ve always been ambivalent about LeBron from a rooting-interest standpoint, and I wondered how I’d handle the possible quandary of rooting for him now that he’s donning my team’s jersey.

Fact is that I’ve never despised LeBron as a player; the real enmity was with his obtuse stans. Those same stans will be joining the Lakers nation in droves, sadly, and our fanbase will be polluted with obnoxious bandwagoners once again, but that’s a poison I’ll gladly swallow as opposed to our budding but foreseeably superstarless roster.

My only real misgivings about LeBron at the moment are how he might possibly bog down our rebuilding process, which we’ve made promiseful strides towards just from our drafted youth alone.

Will LeBron, who was as magisterial as ever during his last Cavaliers stint, have similar leverage here? Does Luke Walton’s seat possibly warm up at our new superstar’s behest?

What about our young talents’ development? Will it be stunted by acclimating to LeBron’s ball-dominant style of play? Will they even remain intact, or will they be mortgaged for ripe talent?

A vista of questions that only time can definitively answer. For now, I’ll just salivate the impending Lakers renascence.

The new colossus of the franchise is here; and although we’re still a far-cry away from winning a championship (the Warriors and Rockets, namely, will see to it), the recent years have been chastening enough to me as a fan that I’ll be appreciative enough of just the playoffs—a threshold of success that used to feel like our birthright.

Lebron can lock up Derrick Rose, Steph Curry, or Kyle Lowry on key 4th quarter possessions. We've seen it time and time again. He brings more to the table than any player in the history of the league.

If you think he's going to be worthless at age 40, you're alll kidding yourselves.

I mean, when the media/analyst starts to criticize him for making 8 straight finals and giving him heat for not winning, you start scratching your head. It's probably clear that whatever/wherever he goes, it's a no win situation. At least with this move he'll be where his family wants to be. I can't fault the guy.
