That's actually the opposite. Now the Lakers have the leverage. Kawhi is reportedly planning to sit out the year again in San Antonio if he doesn't get traded. Lakers will offer less now and they're reportedly pulling Kuzma from their offer. Spurs are in a worse position than they were 2 days ago.

No, SA lost all their leverage. Kawhi will only resign with the Lakers most likely, so no other team is going to trade for a 1 year rental.
Lebron told Magic not to maker any desperation trades.
I would give up Lonzo & some 1st round picks at most.

If everything that clown Stephen A Smith says is true, the Spurs are in a awful situation right now. Apparently Leonard has let it be known that he only has eyes for the Lakers only. No team is going to pay a hefty price for a 1 year rental. As for the Lakers, they can easily hold on to Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, etc. and just elect to sign him next season

If anything the Spurs lost their leverage. Their biggest point of leverage was "You need Kawhi now to get Lebron".

That's a complete non issue now. Lebron is allready in LA for 4 years. The Spurs on the other hand now have a guy threatening to sit a year and sign with the Lakers next season if he's not traded there this season.

How is this good for SA?

your reasoning is perplexing. forget what kawhi said. he becomes a laker imperative. if sas wants to keep kawhi for the year that'll be a year wasted for the lakers. it's a matter sas getting the most for kawhi(which by any stretch will not be enough) versus the lakers IMPERATIVE to grab him.

Because if theres any truth to the report then the Boston and Philly offers become much less or outright pulled

Because those offers no longer exists, Sixer's are not giving up an arm & a leg for a 1 year rental.
