lebron probably got on the phone to magic and said "get me kawhi".

there's no lowballing the spurs any longer. lal MUST get kawhi for next season. waiting on the spurs is pure dumb-worthy.

ingram/kuzma/ another player and picks....this is a hershel walker deal in the making

If everything that clown Stephen A Smith says is true, the Spurs are in a awful situation right now. Apparently Leonard has let it be known that he only has eyes for the Lakers only. No team is going to pay a hefty price for a 1 year rental. As for the Lakers, they can easily hold on to Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, etc. and just elect to sign him next season

Yep! the one year deal for KCP and the possible one year deals being offered by the Lakers pretty much sums up the plan to have a full max again for Kawhi again next summer. The Spurs know this and I think a deal gets done soon now that LeBron has signed and the Celtics and Sixers made it clear they will not trade any of their young studs for Kawhi.

magic's eyes are bugging out. like you go to a store thinking you want a decent tv for $1000, but you see a 70", 4k sony for $7000. you buy the sony cuz it becomes an impulse buy. magic will pay

LMAO. I know LeBron called Lance to come join him on the Lakers. He just couldn't forget that ear job. Are they gonna have lockers next to each other?

How old is LeBron now? Sure they could play out the season as is and sign Leonard outright next year, but that's a year wasted. If the Lakers make a weak offer the big winners are Boston and Philly. Take Kuzma, Ball and Ingram off the table and we can put out a better offer without parting with Fultz, and Boston can beat LA's offer without losing too much. And at this point I bet SAS takes less from either than sending him to LA.

What happens if Philly or Boston takes a chance on him and makes the finals while LA gets steamrolled by Houston or GS? At the least Kawhi has to consider resigning with either of those young cores over jumping to LA with a mid thirties LeBron and who else? I'm not well versed on the Lakers cap situation but would another star be possible with LeBron's deal and max for Kawhi? Sure the situation is pretty bad for the spurs but lets not pretend this puts all the leverage on LA's side either.

Yeah just completely ignore that LeBron now has to go through probably both the Rockets and Warriors to get to the finals.
And would have to beat either in the Finals after going through the Celtics and possibly Philly in the East. Not to mention with Lebron there now, with their young guns, be they become a very attractive FA destination

James will obviously say the right things about believing in the team etc but this is the first time he joined a team without any other star(s), a team that isn't a contender from day 1
He came to the Lakers to be in LA first and foremost

1. Paul George is trippin' if he knew Lebron was going to LA and didn't want to join instead of playing behind Westbrook in OKC.
2. Lebron is trippin' if he wastes a year in LA while they wait and hope to sign Kawhi next year. They better be adding serious pieces. Must be Cousins on a 1 year deal or something.

Just sad how supposedly the GOAT keeps swapping between teams once things get a little tough

after signing KCP, LBJ, and Lance they have no money to offer DMC. They're leaving max space for next summer to sign Kawhi or someone else

Yea but it's also no secret the lakers have a really good chance at getting Kawhi, if this wasn't a possibility on the horizon I am not sure the decision would have been as easy for Lebron.

Imagine Kareem as a stretch big in this era. Doing Skyhooks from 30 feet. That would be the best thing to watch ever.

Major props to Paul George for turning down Lebron James and starting loyal to his teammate Westbrook.

AssistRubio wrote:Him signing for 4 years tells me this is a cash grab by him. He must know the end is near. I expect Albert Pujols Angels type production the last couple years of this deal.

Him signing with the Lakers shows it is NOT a cash grab. He signs for the super max and 5 years with the Cavs, that's a cash grab.

This shows he wants to settle down in LA and have some stability (which may actually allow FA's or trades to happen).
