Wish it was 2019 and Kawhi was already here. lol LeBron, Kawhi, Ingram, and Kuzma would be fun to watch. Just add a tweener Pf/C that can shoot, and all would be good. I don't see that as enough to get past the Warriors but still very competitive.

Gotta hand it to Magic so far. It seems like he's playing it smart. I was really critical of him and thought he'd be Isiah Thomas like, but he's delivered thus far.

Lebron’s gonna give the twilight years we missed out on from Kobe getting injured. :(

Also a thought that just crossed my mind; LeBron might pass Kareem's scoring record as a Laker.

Along those lines, this is pretty nuts: Six of the top 10 scorers in NBA history will have worn a Lakers uniform.

Kareem, Malone, Kobe, Shaq, Wilt and now LeBron

Agree. He was brought here do get things done. The prior guys were just spinning down the toilet bowl.

I'll be fair, and say Jim came in at a bad time (new CBA geared to screw Lakers, his deal for CP3 was dashed, Current roster was old) and Magic/Rob came in with lot's of youth. But he immediately got DLO and Moz shipped off, which helped our salary cap. And how he's landed the biggest fish in the pond.

You don't have to care for Lebron....but he's the biggest fish in the pond, and our guys just got him. Would love to get Kawhi, but I also don't want to ship out half our youth (or more!) to get him. Would rather sit tight, and see if we can sign him next year. I know that went south with PG, but I'd rather wait than send 2 core guys.

Great job Magic/Rob. Things have certainly improved since you guys took the reigns.

Congrats, man!

Looks like the Lakers v. Warriors will be a thing. 8-)

You guys remember how when he returned to CLE from MIA, lebron’s excitement to play with the young core in CLE was met with raised eyebrows that Andrew Wiggins was missing? Soon after we found out he was being sent out for KEvin Love.

Funny how the second to last paragraph in Lee Jenkins’ article doesn’t include a certain youngster

Someday, in the next several years, James will not be the best player in the world or the biggest draw in the sport. To win, he will need a lure besides himself, and here is where Magic and the Lakers come in. Despite all of L.A.’s recent free-agent whiffs, NBA players almost universally acknowledge that the Lakers are the league’s most attractive destination, as long as they meet a baseline for talent and competence. With Johnson and Rob Pelinka, with Ingram and Kyle Kuzma, they’ve crossed the threshold.

Yes sir! Thank you. Still think we need another star to be a viable challenger.....but we're back on the map! Just be careful....Apparently Lebron's been texting your boy, trying to lure him away from GS. =0)

I still THINK this is a dream I'm gonna wake up from. I was adamant about not wanting Lebron on his controlling 1-year deals while holding the franchise hostage.

Low and behold he signs the longest contract since his early Cleveland days. HOW IS THIS REAL?!?!?!

Ehhh...Whatever. If he eventually leaves, that's fine. He's won titles. As long as he doesn't go back to FOKC, I'd be cool with it.

Mozgov and Deng <----------------- Essentially the same salary.

Lebron could literally explode into a million bloody chunks 40 games in, and it would be better than that, right?

The GB is full of little kids that think they have the inside scoop to everything Lakers. It's so funny reading comments like, "Magic's job is saved," or "LeBron will never see the finals again," or "Lakers will have to trade the the whole farm for Kawhi" Literally reading all that nonsense reminds me why I never go to the GB in the first place.
