Screamin' A said that Kawhi may sit out the season if the Spurs don't trade him. I know he's not a reliable source but you have to wonder if Kawhi wouldn't do the same if traded to a team that he doesn't want to be with. Danny and Brad need to have a face-to-face with him so they can get a read on him. Until someone reports that they're meeting then I'm going to remain skeptical that anything gets done. If a meeting leaks that's when I expect things to really start poppin' off.

Seems like posturing imo. Can the dude sit out another season and realistically expect to get paid? It would be unprecedented for sure (in the NBA at least).

It has been a weird free agency. Most of the big FA have already signed and not a lot reported meetings either.

I’m starting to think even if Kawhi indicates he’d be open to staying, it may not be worth trading Brown for. Not because I’m necessarily that high on Brown (though I do like him), but Kawhi seems too enigmatic to put much trust in what he or his group says.

As I think Zach Lowe pointed out, if a player’s agent says his guy will seriously consider re-signing, that holds some currency because presumably that agent has some relationship to the team or other teams around the league, and screwing a team over would hurt him negotiate for his other clients around the league. No one really knows Uncle Dennis or anyone else in his group, so how much is his word worth?

And what if at some point during the season, Kawhi thinks his quad isn’t quite right, and the team’s medical staff doesn’t agree. Does he shut it down? If a teammate offers a mild criticism like tony parker did, does Kawhi then feel totally alienated?

I love Kawhi as a player, but he’s a risky dude to introduce to a team already favored to win the East.

People here can never agree to disagree. Can't be civil. It is just sports, but some of you don't see that way. You must attack a poster personally. News flash anyone can change their mind at anytime understand that. No one owes you anything. No one has to agree with you. If you don't agree with a poster scroll past their post/posts how hard is that.

I have been here since 2011 i see how posters get attacked personally everyday by other posters. Immature behavior. Posting in this forum is not worth it. Many posters have left this forum because of personal attacks, and have stopped posting here. Who wants to be attacked for their opinion/posts regardless if they are right or wrong. The lakers are clearly trying their hardest to get kawhi without giving up any of their studs. They will cave though if that is what it takes. Bet on it.
