It won’t be LaVine though as we have two better SGs

Yeah Lavine never made sense, he's more or less a Hield clone.

You guys will be stacked in the front-court if you land one of those bigs.

I take it you're not interested in Jabari? Can't imagine his lack of defense would be a good fit with so many questionable to bad defenders in the lineup already, despite the SF gap. Did see his name mentioned with you guys once in a report but think it was just thrown in there because you have space.

Good job Knicks on not overpaying for this guy.

WOOF! Kings didn’t offer more than that or he took a lower amount to play in NY? Either way the small forward well is starting to dry...

One of our beat writers (Ham) suggested interest, the other (Jones) refuted it saying the Kings saw him as a PF. I don’t think either has the absolute pulse, but I hope not. He hasn’t been good post injury, and is an injury risk going forward.

The one thing i keep coming back to is the Scott Perry thing. We finally had a credible front office exec in the organization who could have potentially helped turn things around. What do the kings do...let him out of his contract as an act of good faith (i know we got compensated but nothing substantial). Outside of the infamous draft pick trade, that to me was the worst move the kings have made in the last few years.

Is there any king fan who'd rather have Vlade running the show than Perry?

Well we do have lots of clutter perhaps for trades. Doubt anyone pays well for it however.

At this point what does it matter. I'm good throwing big money at jabari for 2 years and see if it works. It's not like were a free agent destination or have anyone to resign. We will clear a ton of cap space next year. Might as well go big or go home.

Lebron was my favorite player not wearing a kings uniform for probably the last 10 years. Now I have to root for GS and hate lebron... all the while the west continues to get tougher and tougher and our sight at the playoffs looks grim for who knows how much longer. Welp, today I'm feeling extremely pessimistic

Believe me Ill be rooting for Rockets/Celtics finals. For 4 years I've hated Warriors with a passion, especially the last 2 with Durant. But when the Lakers trade for kawhi (and they will) and then play GS in the WCF because HOLY **** the ratings will be so insane Silver will do whatever he has to do get there, then ill be wearing a Durant jersey like I was a day 1 lol.

I'm actually right there with you. We're not gonna win a title any time soon and we probably won't make the playoffs the next couple years. Knowing this the kings should go out and take a chance/do something different to see if we can catch lightning in a bottle. Sign Lavine and see if we can win by being the fastest team in the league. Or play Bagley at SF and see if a 3 big lineup could have success in the modern nba. Going into training camp with a low-upside play at SF shouldn't even be an option.

A big problem the Kings have: there's almost as much pressure for them to get rid of some guys as there is to signing players. 2 of our bigs and also Shumpert need to go by opening night but who knows if there are takers.

Good point, go big or go home.

So yeah, get assets for cap or Parker seem like the best bets in the house right now.

We don't have any pressure man.

No pick leads to a who cares about "certain aspects of development". All our vets expire, all our youngsters are on contracts for multiple years besides WCS.

My endgame the entire time was Capela/Nurkic/Porter, someone of that caliber. No mediocre signings

How to deal with the bigs is another issue

Ballsy, and to an extent I question if it’s true. He just came off a rookie contract and may suffer an injury and never get seriously paid

It’s looking more likely we will be calling OKC and/or Houston to get assets for our space. Blade may just be ok with standing pat this year, gaining assets for space and just letting the expiring go. I’m not completely against it if he goes that way, however the expiring need to be on alert for a disgruntled star.

I love Kings fans...

Every 6'5"/6'6" player who's linked to the Kings
"he's too small...that guy's a shooting guard...there's no way he can guard small forwards"

Every 6'8"/6'9" player who's linked to the Kings:
"he's too big to guard wings...he's a power forward or a modern day center at this point"

People get way too hung up on heights when discussing positional fits. This is an age of constant switching and positionless basketball afterall. I get that he's not the right fit because he doesn't provide enough offense or shooting but the idea that 6'5" Iman Shumpert is 'too small' to play SF is insane as he's been guarding 1s, 2s and 3s his entire career.

The lakers trade would be interesting if we could get say.. Deng's contract, and Ingram for ZBo and a 2nd rounder. This would be if the Lakers need the room to sign another star.

We all know how much Lebron loves his vets and the kings would be getting a high level starter in Ingram. Also something that hasn't been discussed much: outside of his horrendous contract there's the potential that Deng could still offer something on the court. He's 33 but hasn't really played in 2 years and is completely healthy.

No way the Lakers come close to doing that.

They wouldn’t do it without Randolph, and without significant value coming back to them

Lakers were refusing to include Ingram for Kawhi, right?

They would never use him to dump Deng.

Kuzma on the other hand.... Especially if they bring Randle back.
