Can play 3 positions. Would be insanely huge for us.

Apparently he also met with OKC yesterday:
Love the idea of him starting with Kemba and Batum.

Re: Rumor: Hornets meeting with Tyreke Evans today
Surprised he's even meeting with us. Let's not get our hopes up here. Don't see much reason for him to take a deal from us over the other three.
The one argument we could have over other teams is maybe we could make him look better than the other three and he could earn a bigger contract as a result after this season

Re: Rumor: Hornets meeting with Tyreke Evans today
This would easily make our offseason the best in awhile if we could somehow sign Evans. I just don't see what we can offer that the other teams can't unfortunately. Somehow, our guys will have to convince Evans that our team is perfect for him to showcase his talents. There are obvious guys on our 2nd unit that would be good to work with. Hopefully, he's turned off about going to go play alongside Lance

The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

Re: Rumor: Hornets meeting with Tyreke Evans today
I mean LAL just signed Lance and also is hoping to trade for Kawhi. Tyreke is an after thought there, and that's a lot of overlap in skillset. With GSW, he's going to have a much more minor role.
He could start and be a major piece for us.

I can only echo others here ... he would be a HUGE signing. I don't have my hopes up, but do like that the team is listed as being in the mix.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

We could do all small vs. all big lineups in practice:
Kemba - Monk - Lamb - MKG - Marv
vs.
Tyreke - Miles - Batum - Frank - Cody

Tyreke - Miles - Batum - Frank - Cody

What I like best about Tyreke is the potential lineup flexibility the team would have with him. His D worries me a bit though.

Re: Rumor: Hornets meeting with Tyreke Evans today
Tyreke is a little too good to be Kemba's backup. He could play the "Lin" role, but just better... backup but also play along side for crunchtime. Heck he could be our starting 2. Kemba, Tyreke, Batum, Marv, Cody with Monk, Lamb, MKG, Frank, and Willy off the bench, with some staggering to make sure that one of Kemba or Reke is on the floor at all times.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

how do we complete with the lakers? only thing we have going for us is playing time.

Re: Rumor: Hornets meeting with Tyreke Evans today
Now that Tyreke can actually shoot, YES PLEASE. He'd fit with everyone. Kemba/Tyreke/Batum/Marvin/Zeller would be a versatile closing unit, when Kemba's on the bench, Tyreke/Monk/MKG/Frank/Willy is a fantastic second unit. We could even go with a high octane offensive lineup of Kemba/Monk/Tyreke or Kemba/Lamb/Tyreke with any two forwards/bigs. He's the one MLE level signing I'd be happy to throw the full 4-year deal at, and just worry about next year's finances later. That would be worth every penny.
investigate Adam Silver

and opportunity to shine in the offense. Evans won't get to handle the ball much with LeBron and Lonzo Ball there. They will dominate the offense. Here, he splits ball handling duties with Kemba, Nic, and Monk, who are more than capable of playing off the ball.

Re: Rumor: Hornets meeting with Tyreke Evans today
I doubt he'd pick us over the other situations, but I just like that we have a meeting. We obviously need to find a way to ship out the "dead weight" and add talent where possible. This is another good sign for that.

Re: Rumor: Hornets meeting with Tyreke Evans today
Makes me wonder if we view him functionally as a PG, or if the thought is start him and then trade other pieces for a PG.
