Re: Bulls Free Agency - Merged
As a Bulls fan I really want to be calm but it seems like every year that goes by we get the same results from our front office. I really dislike the way they do business sometimes. If I was running the front office I would off already signed Zach Lavine to a front loaded 4 year deal. I would have also made an attempt to get rid of Felicio, Holiday and Payne.
It seems like we are on a vacation ever since Derrick Rose got hurt. As fans we deserve much better.

Now here's a good, young FA worth spending money on!

Not sure he would have a place in this team. He can start for the Nets. He wouldn't start here.

pretty formidable team in the east.
They may have to trade 2019 1st + one of Lauri/Portis/WCJ for Love.
Naw, I doubt it, especially if the cavs are tanking and rebuilding, which would be the only reason they trade Kevin love .
In the case of rebuilding it's a fire sale, you get guys for cheaper. The main thing the cavs would care about is instant cap relief, which we can offer by trading them lopez and asik, expiring and small cap hold, and maybe a young asset, which we could do by giving them portis. We wouldn't have to come off a pick, just them being bad enough to get their own high pick would be good.

They just wait around and settle for what ever falls into their laps, every year. I pretty much expect it at this point.holv03 wrote:As a Bulls fan I really want to be calm but it seems like every year that goes by we get the same results from our front office. I'm not here to argue.

We still need a starting caliber 3. This sucks.

Robin Lopez would be the odd man out. Start Randle and bring Carter off the bench.

It was one of the major reasons I was against tanking, because it would ultimately let them off the hook and give them a extended vacation where it seemed the only time they were active was during draft time, I literally called this before we tanked.
It's also why I said let's get a new front office in here if we are choosing tanking , gar pax have done nothing to warrant literally getting another Crack at this.

Re: Bulls Free Agency - Merged
There’s a good chance Carter will never be as good as Randle is right now, and he’s only 23. I get the whole saving cap space for next year thing, but if you’re going to sign a FA Randle is one of the few you should actually consider.

Hahahaha.
There's a good chance.
Nothing objective whatsoever in that post.

Rookies flame out. It happens all the time. Carter is a good prospect but not remotely so talented as to be anything like a can’t miss (as if those existed). Randle is already a very good NBA player, and young enough to where he could still improve.
Given the Bulls’ ineptitude and unattractiveness as a FA option, holding out hope for two max deals after next season is probably yet another siren’s song. Randle should at least be considered, and there’s no reason he and Carter can’t be on the same roster.

I think Julius Randle would be a great fit next to Lauri. A modern NBA center with crazy athleticism- and he can score, too.

Bulls basically got their Julius Randle and his name is Bobby Portis....and Portis can at least threaten with stretching the floor.

Re: Bulls Free Agency - Merged
Well, moot point - signed with NO for 2/18 with the 2nd year a player option.
