I wonder how much Harrell will be offered by another team. I liked him a lot and would like to see the Clippers keep him. But not for a ridiculous amount.

Having to match a $10M+ offer for Montrezl would be tough, I'm hoping he doesn't get anywhere near that. Hopefully with the small amount of teams with capspace, and the few of those with a need of what he brings, he won't get a cent more than the MLE.

I'm guessing he'll get an offer sheet of somewhere around 20 mil over 3 years. What would it take to get the Clippers to decline matching? Would a 2019 top 20ish protected 1st rounder that never has less than top 15 protection do it? I think his positives outweigh his negatives, but... his defensive numbers have been bad, his rebounding has been so-so, and he's never going to stretch defenses with his range. But his overall production and efficiency have been excellent.

Love Trez, but I wouldnt go the full MLE value for him ($9 mil per). I hope his efficiency stays where it is, but he doesnt hit the glass enough for me to pay him a mid-level salary.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

FTR, no consideration permitted by CBA for not matching a RFA offer from another team.
Here are the CBA rules:
There can be no compensation given to a team in return for their submitting or not submitting an offer sheet, or for matching or not matching an offer to a restricted free agent. For example, Houston could not sign Golden State's restricted free agent to an offer sheet, then send Golden State a draft pick in exchange for their not matching the offer. Teams also can't try to scare teams that might sign their restricted free agents, for example by declaring publicly that they will match any and all offers.
If a team matches an offer sheet and retains its free agent, then for one year they cannot trade him without his consent, and during that year cannot trade him at all to the team that signed him to the offer sheet. They also can't trade the player in a sign-and-trade transaction (see question number 92). A restricted free agent's resulting contract (whether with the new team or the contract is matched by the player's prior team) cannot be amended in any manner for one year.

I think 3 years 20M is fair for Trez. 2-3M per year for Tyrone seems fair as well.

Re: Clippers Tender QO to Montrezl Harrell & Tyrone Wallace
With the FA bear market, what kind of deal do ya'll think Trez will get? Would be a coup for Clips to get him for 3/21 to be the 1st big off the bench, but i doubt he'd be happy with that. However will he risk accepting the QO?
Wallace i think is clearly gonna remain 2 way player, dont feel like anyone is gonna waste their exceptions on him.

For sure he won't sign the QO. He just had a pretty impressive season by his standards so he'll be looking to capitalize on that success. I could easily see him getting a full MLE 4 year deal from a desperate enough team. I like Harrell and appreciate his ability to score inside but he's really similar to players like Carl Landry who are typically limited to 20-25 MPG off the bench. At that price you gotta let him go.

In this salary cap situation we have these days, you should remember that a $10-12 million/year contract is basically a slightly above MLE contract. The smaller max is currently $25-26 million starting salary, I'd think Harrell could command up to $14-15M, BUT, where is the cap space? The only teams remaining with legitimate cap space are like the Lakers and Kings, so it is actually possible that some guys might be willing to take one year contracts and test out the market next season when more teams have cap space.
