Hope he can be a surprise contributor early on. Would make losing out on big name free agents a little less frustrating.

He looks like a shooter to me. I don't know. The form looks a little weird because his arms are so long, but you don't see him Lonzoing any shots. Everything looks close.

I think he'll be a legit 3 and D bench guy right away.

His shot form reminds me of Kawhi, not to sound too redundant

To be fair that is precisely the kind of release that does better in an empty gym situation. No one in his air space to speed up the release. Don't get me wrong I actually expect him to be a contribute fairly quickly.

His release looks much quicker, I think the main issue, based on what I saw of him in college, was shot preparation, the time between catching the ball and starting the shooting motion.

Also, to be fair, Smith is going to get a ton of wide open 3pt looks (just like TJ) because every defender is going to cheat off him in year 1. He should worry first about getting confidence in hitting those wide open looks before he tries to quicken/shorten his release - he has next offseason to do that.

Year 1 is all about playing great D, dunking everything in transition, and hitting wide open 3s. If he can be a net positive player for us off the bench, that is a big win.

Looking forward to how he compete against NBA size. He looks small and thin for me.

Luckily, the thin thing is fixable. Yes, the lack of height is a negative.

If he can learn to dribble we just might have something here.

Shot looks pure and has quicken quite a bit. Interesting to see it in game action.
