I actually like this signing.

Yeah, we still need a center but screw it, if we're going to play small ball then let's embrace it.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I'll say this, out of all of the awful scenarios I've imagined him arriving here under, this is the most palatable.

Figured it'd be another two or three years before Grunfeld would finally get his guy.

Well, at least we now have an option at PF, between Kieff and Green there's really not much drop off.

Random thoughts:

1. I wonder if last season's version of Green was an aberration - mainly b/c he played with LeBron? For the first time in his career, he wasn't terrible and actually fairly useful role player.

2. Even if it was an aberration, Green is still an upgrade over Mike Scott.

3. If it wasn't an aberration, Green is a solid upgrade over Markieff Morris at the 4.

4. I'd be happier if this paved the way for Morris to get dealt but it likely doesn't.

5. Green is a solid signing for the minimum. I don't know if he moves the needle much but I don't see a ton of downside in the move and if he's plays like he did last year he can really help.

This, I felt like I've predicted Ernie signing Jeff Green many times over the past years. In past I was worried about sacrificing cap room to do so. So signing him for the minimum is fine by me.

Yeah, I’m cool with this.

As long as this isn’t “the” big move of the off-season.

Though with Ernie at the helm, I fear what the “big” move might be.

You nailed it, Grunfeld is batting 1000% this off-season. We got Rivers who is about to break out and by 6th man of the year. Brown who has ROY potential all over him and now Green who is in an absolute upward trend! Look at his stats vs. Morris - who would you rather have as your PF! Plus, we all know that coming to the Wizards will bump your 3 point shooting percentage by 30 or 40 points.

Why didn't Green have a nationally-televised "the decision" program to announce this.

He's coming home! He's coming home!

Good guy, right price. Coming home. Brooks coached him at OKC. Maybe he'll push Kieff for minutes and play some small ball 5. Before we got Dwight, I was fine with getting a solid character in the locker room.

When we punted on the draft with these kids, you knew the Wizards were going to get a new crop of leftover vets, the Wizards don’t like rookies. I don’t hate the Green signing.

Ernie grunfeld continues to make the same simplistic stupid mistakes year after year.

He learned nothing from Humphries the same time as Blair.

He learned nothing from Nicholson the same time as Smith.

The very day he gives Thomas Bryant he forgets that Ian Mahinmi is even on the roster. He forgets that Jason Smith is on the roster. He adds two more bigs in Jeff Green and Dwight Howard. I guess Markieff Morris knows he's going to be traded but it will be for pennies on the dollar wherever he goes.

What he does is a roster confusion and make sure that one of the players that he picks up will be certain to fail. Vesely + Seraphin + Nene + Okafor + Ariza... he just keeps throwing mediocre bodies on top of the heap as if he didn't just mess up by adding the people that didn't succeed in the first place.

Sloppy lazy clueless roster construction when the goal is just to win 40 games and give the same old s*** every year

Agreed but by their logic Jeff Green has a name and he's known around the league. They know he went to Georgetown. John Wall might like to hang out at clubs with guys like this and that's all that matters.

It is obvious that they're saying f*** all of us who think we know better they own it and they run it

Dump Smith/Meeks onto... i dunno, Atlanta

Trade Meeks back to the Lakers cuz they need a shooter and they're going to win some games.

Release Jason Smith and let him go to the Warriors because DeMarcus Cousins isn't healthy and he's not going to be able to help them but Jaaon actually can help them in short spurts.

The Wizards let anybody that can be helpful elsewhere leave the team immediately.

Now that they've got a collection of stupid they may as well trade Otto Porter for cap relief.

This should be made in gigantic font.

Anybody who knows Ernie grunfeld in the man himself you are a turd of a GM because of Moves Like This.

Several years ago I knew Kevin seraphin and Jan vesely should have been traded but the Wizards held on to them and screwed them up. You're screwing up Tomas Satoransky with a moron coach who will not play him effectively. You trade center who is definitely telling the truth about John Wall. You add Troy Brown and make sure that there is no way that he will ever play now because you add Austin Rivers foolishly.

You bring in about 3 or 4 power forwards just to make sure Otto Porter never plays as most effective position.

Turd of a GM as far as I'm concerned.

Green is going to end up not being an upgrade over Mike Smith or Markieff Morris.

The roster chemistry is going to suck ass in a major way. The roles are confused and the added people who are going to come in here and just not do what you think they're going to do.

The Wizards have held onto their 42 wins.
