Running it up for the wall of shame?
What are you talking about?
That's a ridiculous accusation.
Just a joke guy
But it is the guys you'd never expect that you gotta look out for

With a healthy roster his role is exactly that. It's great to bring him in when our guys are either flat, or an opposing guard or wing is killing us.
He does special things when he isn't asked to do too much.
What gets Smart in trouble is when he's needed to run the team for large stretches, or when he feels like he needs to shoot the ball every time he's open.
He can actually be quite effective offensively when they post him up, or if they run p&rs with Smart and a rim runner.
He's drives me nuts sometimes, but I'm fairly confident his mere presence injects confidence in his teammates. Marcus is a pitbull and definitely a guy you want in your foxhole.

If someone like a Semi was wired to play in a more manic fashion, like Smart, it would be easier to let Marcus go. But no one on the team consistently makes more desperation plays. Perhaps a bit too much is made of these types of "winning" plays, but they do have a positive effect beyond the play itself.
Exactly.

For all his flaws, Marcus is still a dude. He is an incredible athlete in many ways just not always purely basketball ways ( ie. First step, explosive jump). I have played against guys who suck at basketball but outclass me physically and it is an awful feeling. Marcus makes NBA players feel that way and by fourth quarter it sucks the life out of some guys. At the right price he is an enormous asset but he has to be a role player and paid like one.

Man I still feel really bad for him. There's no way he's going to get more than MLE money even for a scrub team like the Magic
No, sorry guys. I did a post with years and $$ for Smart, but it isn't worked out yet so I jumped the gun a bit. My badTA42 wrote:ddb wrote:.
