I also think they're waiting to sign to see if Kawhi is available so he can be sign and traded. If Smart stays on his QO he can nix a trade so Ainge probably wants an extension, so he can be traded on december 15th.

All we heard was their pick wouldnt be great because of all their cap room to get middling free agents but it seems like theyve been very quiet
where's that sactowndog or whatever to tell us how much better they are going to get in free agency.

not our problem if the Jazz are stupid. We have our own cap situation to worry about.GoCeltics123 wrote:

I never worry about contracts we hand out or anything to do with the cap with Zarren onboard. Ever.

Sacramento has Hield and Fox.
A few of us Kings fans would love to run him in a 3-headed backcourt (playing alongside some combination of Fox, Hield, and Bogdanovic) because (we think) he can stick most 3s on the defensive end and has the edge/motor/defense that the team really needs. Our management is incompetent, though, so probably not happening.

I'd sign Smart to a 4 year 44m contract

Re: NBA Free Agency
Philly needed a wing good enough to get Roco off the starting unit and instead they got a guy who is maybe good enough to be his backup. I got to give it Philly fans, that is a lot of trust in the process they've got there. More like trust that you are in a maze constructed by a drunken madman and there might actually be one way out, but maybe not.
ok if they get Kawhi the jokes have to stop but until them I gotta get em in

Ive comped Smart to Randle ever since the draft since we could've conceivably gone with either and they've both had strangely comparable careers. I think in the end Smart gets the same deal Randle just did, maybe a mil more per year for hometown feelings but the more this goes on the less i see the logic in a longterm deal for either side.

I definitely took the wrong career path.

Bleeds green all his life, has an amazing job with his childhood Celtics.... It would take a lot for him to even consider leaving.

Remember that Zarren is a lifelong Celtics fan that still goes to games with his dad, I think. Plus he may be promised the job after Danny retires. I have skepticism he leaves, even for as good a situation as Philly.

Dwight in DC is terrific, but man LeBron, Rondo, Lance, Lonzo, LaVar, McGee, and Dwight woulda been terrific. That team gets blown up before Christmas.

My sources say he’s been plotting to team up with Kyrie and Jimmy Butler in Brooklyn for years.

I agree and as goceltic123 has pointed out, he’s likely the heir apparent here as well. That begs the question as to how many more years Ainge has this job in him before he calls it quits

Utah outbid themselves, what team even remembered Exum was still in the league?
