Re: Who should we target for backup PG?
I want Tony Parker. He was a massive douche in his younger days but he's a hall of famer that would be a good mentor and player coach for the team and Borrego.
I also think having him and Batum involved with the organization with the investments they've both made in French professional clubs could pay dividends down the road with regards to European scouting. That's been one of the biggest weaknesses of the organization for a while.

My top 2 (Evans, Bradley) are off the board. I switched to Napier, my third choice.

I don't even know how to feel about a Tony Parker - Malik Monk backcourt. They seem like such opposites.
Really I don't think I can envision Parker playing anywhere but SAS.

If the Spurs have any remaining hope of reconciliation with Kawhi they'll let Parker go. Signing players isn't always about on court production, we wouldn't be paying him for that.

One thing's for sure...
Kupchak is thorough.
This long delay reminds me of our coaching search. Seth Curry is off the board and he's on the same tier as Shabazz. Three top tier guys are gone. Kupchak must be monitoring the trade market.

I would jump from the window if Parker was signed here. Everyone knows he is washed.
Napier or trade now since Exum is gone too. I thought Napier was a bad defender though. Don't know if his fans or alike are right when they try to sell his defensive prowess knowing anyone trying to defend in Portland's backcourt should look like a prime angry Tony Allen.
At least, he can score and he can make plays.

I heard online Damian Lillard describes Napier as being a "handful" in practice.

im super relieved we passed on exum, especially if he wanted that kind of money
i'd be okay with parker i guess. he never lights up a stat sheet, but he does so much at the pg position.... and even zombie parker isn't worse than mcw lol

If we don't get Shabazz, I'm just running Monk and Graham at backup point and signing Michael Beasley with the MLE to help address our SF position. MKG is unreliable and Bridges is a rookie.

Apart from our reserve point, I think our biggest issue is at the 4. Marvin is toast, Frank is just good ole klutzy Frank who I don’t see improving any further. Miles is really undersized for that position at the NBA level, so I prefer they get him most minutes as a 3.
I prefer trading to get Love. Beasley is a case but would like to see what he or someone similar could do here.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

marvin is toast?
how? he played less minutes and his efficiency shot up as a result. having a coach that doesn't throw him on centers without a second thought is only gonna do more for him

I have to agree with you about Marv.
If there was any one player that impressed me, it was him. Even though our team performed bad, Marv was able to find a role and play it well. If he was on a team like the Warriors, everyone would be applauding him.

I will grant you he played better later in the season, but he was dreadful much of it offensively. I also think he is one year older and that much closer to falling off the cliff/hitting the wall/age-performance deficiency.

Who should we target for backup PG?
I'm starting to think Napier may view himself as a starter.

I wouldn’t say I’m excited for Parker but he wouldn’t be terrible. The experience would be big for kemba and graham

Re: Who should we target for backup PG?
Is our guy Beverly? Beverly with the TPE?
The Clippers now have a 16-man roster with Bradley, one over the league maximum, and have interest in re-signing free-agent center Montrezl Harrell, according NBA officials not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
If the Clippers and Harrell agree to a deal, that pushes their roster two players above the 15-man limit and would mean L.A. has to purge players

Re: Who should we target for backup PG?
Parker wouldn't be a terrible fit. At the very least, he should pick up the morale of Batum.
