Are we even sure Porzingis returns next season and if so, returned to his former self and remain healthy? Without him, is there anything NY really offers Butler and Kyrie that Orlando couldn’t compensate for in its own way?

Bigger market, more recognized city and a better-regarded coach. I don't even need to mention Porzingis.

Yeah Kyrie being from East Orange puts either of the NY teams in play. I lowkey think watching the reverence LBJ got for that championship in Cleveland made Kyrie think he may be able to do that for NY. Can you imagine if he teamed up and goth them back to ECF and made them good again? NY would LOVE this guy. Not sure if they could get to winning it all, but if they actually did he would forever be mentioned in that it would be a great story.

Now that's some creative thinking, and why we need to always stay cap flexible. A scenario like that could easily come up. Guys want to team up now. Not only to play with friends, but they too know that's what its going to take to have any shot at a championship. Don't forget the tax benefits in Orlando. I'm thinking Tmac and Grant Hill, but this time without the crutches.

Hold out until Giannis is unrestricted and really put together the long boi squad.

The Knicks are tied up with $65M for 2019 with Porzingis hitting free agency.

The cap will be $108M. They have to get creative if they want to sign 2 max free agents but it can be done. 3 max contracts? Nope.

Would those two prefer playing together in Orlando with Isaac + Bamba or split up and one goes to NY?

I’m not saying I think this or anything like it actually will happen but there is reason to be excited about the 2019 free agent class and perhaps sitting on the contracts of Vuc / Ross is best?

Giannis and Exum are FA in the same summer.

I'd take Noah off their hands for Ntilikina.

Blah. Not so much against him but I’m not intrigued enough by him to help creat yet another super team.

You also forget that the Knicks currently have the least likeable owner in all of sports as far as the players are concerned, right? Like he was about to run Porzingis out of town as soon as he became something.

They could always trade for Butler and they’d have his bird rights so they could extend him and go over the cap, same with KP, and use cap space to sign Kyrie. Currently the t-wolves have no real leverage in a deal for Butler if the reports are true that he won’t sign an extension. At that point it’s simply a case of getting something in return for him. They could send Tim Hardaway and perhaps a future pick, or a combination of Courtney Lee and Lance Thomas plus a future pick. Both deals give them something for a player that will reportedly walk in free agency.

As for us if we could somehow pull off deals to add Kyrie and Butler to Isaac, Gordon and Bamba we could be well set. We could even try to get Butler, send them Fournier plus something else, then try to clear enough space to go after Kyrie in 2019. If we can hold onto our young front court that might be a good selling point for Kyrie and Butler.
