If we just re-sign Smart and give Bird an NBA contract, I think we're all set.

Irving / Smart / Wanamaker
Brown / Rozier / Bird
Tatum / Morris / Ojeleye
Hayward / Theis / Yabusele
Horford / Baynes / Williams

If we keep Bird as a two-way and we're going into tax anyway, I wouldn't mind Ennis, LMAM, or Ellington as deep bench vets for the BAE or part of the MLE. If they can be had for the minimum, great! Tyreke or Tolliver would've been perfect here but they landed on good teams that will afford them better opportunity.

Here are the most attractive remaining FAs (mostly restricted):

No point trying to bid on RFAs, we'll just get matched.

Nader not on SL team? I guess Bird gets that last spot.

He is injured, but yeah, Bird should get it, he deserves it.

Those 3 are definitely the best options available, but I don't think we have the minutes to spare they want except for maybe Ennis. He's probably also the only one you could have a chance at getting at the minimum. So I think we're set.

Unless... We're not going to be that far into tax, so maybe there will be some moves to get us out of it to delay getting the repeater tax.

If it’s close, I could see a small salary dump to get under the tax in Yabu or potentially a deal to move Morris to consolidate the roster a bit and save some money.

Bobby Marks seems like an humble, hard working guy. I would like to relate to him an hilarious anecdote I heard the other day, but my mind is preoccupied by an horrific accident I saw this afternoon. A young woman was riding an horse on the side of the road, when an heckler shouted something from a passing car. The horse got spooked and took an hard right onto the road, directly in front of an Hyundai Accent. It was not pretty. The bystanders made an heroic effort, but the car could not be saved.

And I assume the horse is Kawhi Leonard, the Hyundai Accent is the Spurs, the heckler is the Lakers, and the bystanders are the Celtics?

Players Tribune must be all like ‘hey, don’t nobody want to write a heartfelt essay this year?’

In all seriousness, this has to be the fastest free agency ever. Usually the biggest names don't sign until Fourth of July or afterward. This year, Marcus Smart and Clint Capela are probably the two biggest names left.

Celtics showing interest in James Nunnally

https://www.celticsblog.com/2018/7/3/17531190/boston-celtics-show-interest-in-james-nunnally-nba-free-agent-2018

The Celtics are among a handful of NBA teams showing interest in 27-year old wing James Nunnally who last played for Fenerbahçe, where he was teammates of recent Celtics signing Brad Wanamaker.

Nunnally is a two-time Turkish League champion and a 2-time Euroleague Finalist (2017 champion) that has a 50.6(!) 3-point shooting percentage in 63 career Euroleague games.

Would anyone consider Michael Beasley if he came cheap? Could replace Monroe on bench and he always been able to score.

Wonder what Brad and a solid veteran team could do for his play.

HELL no.

He is basically Marcus Morris without the decent defense. Imagine that for a second.

Beasley is a better offensive player, but otherwise he is a nothing burger. Morris is a great teammate and all about winning. Beasley, not so much.

If we were able to fix beasley a bit, just a bit, then we would be getting an awesome piece. When he is focused is really dangerous.

He is EXTREMELY iso-oriented. Like, possibly even more than Morris. Not even Brad can fix him, in my opinion.

ya i want a guy who is iso-oriented as my 10th/11th guy if he accepts that role. Then it becomes a role. Like nights where you shoot 7-39 from 3 and can't score and you need to go gerald green/michael beasley

We already have Marcus Morris. No need for two of them.

Marcus Smart is an underrated shooter

Dude, the season can't get here soon enough. I've never been more anxious for an offseason to be over. I don't like to rush life, but, yeah.
