That's a pretty good signing, I like him more than ilyasova.

Yeah I think both the Chandler and Bjelica moves were good for them. Chandler gives them a wing defender they sorely needed and Bjelica essentially replaces Ilyasova. That being said, Bjelica's offensive nets have been really terrible throughout his career, which seems pretty strange for a big who spaces the floor like that.

It's crazy how little all of these solid signings/moves that other Eastern Conference teams are making actually move the needle in terms of them competing with the Celtics. These teams are so far behind us it's not even funny.

Lol. Sure Rachel. Guess that's why every single star that was either a free agent or on the trade block the past 20 years was "LA bound."

Re: NBA Free Agency
If we have the Bucks Morris, Yabu, Nader, and the clippers pick in a sign and trade for Jabari, how much could we pay him and still match?
I'm really keeping an eye on Parker. I'm not sure the Bucks want him after giving 3 years to Ilyasova. He might be available for a pretty low contract.

I am not giving up ANYTHING of value for Jabari Parker. I'm not even sure I would take him for free.

Parker is kinda of screwed if he’s thinking he’s gonna to get a 3-4 year deal for 15-20 million
I heard because of his lack of playing time coming off injury. Parker qualifying off is only 4.3 million.
His best bet may be to get a Julius Randle type of deal 1 Plus 1 (player option) for 2 years/20 million.
Money available is running out quickly for players like Parker. Reality is setting in hopefully especially coming off major injury for 2nd time.
I would bet we have kicked the tires on Parker with Milwaukee. He seems like the kind of reclamation project Brad would like. Move Morris, Yabu and Nader(Waived) for him.
After Yanus and Phriss Midd , Jabari stressed me out most during our series ! He looked healthy and strong and finally primed to do some real damage.. I would love to ADD HIM !! Dont see any way Bucks let him go for Morris and Yabs tho .. no way

The Bucks would gladly swap Parker for Morris.
What is this forum's obsession with empty stats guys? David Lee. Al Jefferson. Dion Waiters. Now Jabari Parker?
Parker doesn't have a consistent three-point shot, he doesn't create for his teammates, he doesn't rebound well, he isn't big enough to defend 4s and 5s and isn't quick enough to defend 3s, he caused some problems in Milwaukee's locker room because he was jealous of Giannis AND he is coming off not one, but TWO torn ACLs.
I am NOT a Marcus Morris fan, but we would become worse if we traded Morris for Parker. At least Morris can play some defense.
People are just drumming up Parker because of what he did in college and because he was the No. 2 overall pick. The problem is, he has suffered two significant knee injuries since then, and even if he didn't have those health issues, I'm not sure he ever would have been "that" guy because all of the same deficiencies he has now are the same ones he had coming out of Duke. They are just magnified because he hasn't been able to stay on the floor.
Parker gets a big NO from me.

Im not a traditional stat guy ..Adv anylitics have plenty of merit IMO
Parker passes the eye test easily .. he's big, athletic and can score well at all 3 levels (esp midrange and getting to the basket) good FT shooter .. his D looked solid .. the big stage did not overwhelm him .. he's more or less a 2nd yr player!

Re: NBA Free Agency
Sixers have improved slightly. If they can get any improvement out of Fultz they will be much improved. Suddenly their depth is improving to a more competitive match for us.

We're still looking at Celtics in five assuming everyone is healthy.

Re: NBA Free Agency
Well they improved but we added Hayward and Irvingg so I think we've improved more. But someone in another thread pointed out they may be backfilling their roster for a Kawhi trade as they have 17 rostered players now apparently. Could see them ship out 3 or 4 for Leonard or Butler

Re: NBA Free Agency
I don't want Parker because he's too risky but I think there's a chance he turns it around still. If he does Milwakee becomes a major pain in the ass for us and pretty clearly better than Philly. Milwakee is actually perfect situation for Parker because Giannis can cover for him.

I am not a Jabari Parker fan, but this statement is ludicrous IMO. Marcus Morris does not play enough defense to justify his shot selection.

And Jabari Parker doesn't play any defense. Period.
So, would you rather have the guy with a poor shot selection who can play some defense and switch or the guy who has no versatility in his offensive game and who doesn't play any defense at all?

Re: NBA Free Agency
Wouldn’t be surprised if Ainge is using Smart, Morris, end of bench others and draft picks to try and turn that into Leonard, Butler or Parker.
Kind of makes sense in my opinion. There is really no reason for Marcus Smart contract to take this long given there is no market for him. I think something else is going on.

He has room for development though, now that he is healthy. Between injuries and Milwaukee...
If our roster stays the way it is, losing Marcus Morris would be addition by subtraction IMO, and shedding his meager salary could still help us avoid lux tax. Not to mention, for such a likeable team, Marcus Morris makes you want to punch him way too often.
If we go back to 2014, a number of people here considered Jabari the clear #1 prospect in the draft. I would have been pissed if we had a top 2 pick that year and drafted him, as I would be pissed if we gave him a max contract right now. If we're talking a cheap one or two year deal in place of Marcus Morris, he is worth consideration.

He has torn his ACL twice. I highly doubt he'll ever be completely healthy.
Also, he is not going to suddenly develop footspeed or get taller. He is always going to be a bad defensive player.
As far as Morris goes, I'm no fan of his, so I won't argue with you too much there. I just want nothing to do with Parker. He is essentially a less effective version of current Carmelo Anthony. That tells you all you need to know right there.
