I'm not making a list, but I tend to prefer guys who are at least playing in the system already, even in the Dominican.

It's neat seeing Jo Adell doing so well, given that he's basically Babe Ruth in the OOTP series (down to the part where you switch him from a pitcher to an outfielder).

Biggio has cooled in a lot of respects...but not the dingers. He now has 18, which is rather a lot, and he leads the Eastern League in both HRs and walks. He's also third in strikeouts, behind only Tim Tebow and a guy who has struck out in an inconceivable 42% of his plate appearances.

No idea. Carpenter was far more contact-oriented in the minors, and I'm still pretty iffy on Biggio's chances given that he's striking out 26% of the time in AA. Part of that is simply that he takes a tonne of pitches -- including strikes -- looking for something to drive, and there's no question that his walk rate is elite. It's still enough to limit his upside unless he can genuinely hit 35+ a year or hold the K rate where it is, but most players see it elevate as they approach the bigs.

If things go just right, maybe Joc Pederson circa 2015-2017, but a 2B?

That list looks stacked compared to previous the two years. Though I don’t 100% agree with the order, some of our 10-15 range prospects would be a top 5 guy in weaker systems.

Chavez Young does deserve some love.
And so does Santiago Espinal, he’s having a good enough year I would slot in top 20.
Alford’s stock has dropped a bit, and Kevin Smith should be higher, given he’s already made the BA top 100 list.
I’d also rank Gurriel ahead of Zeuch.
High ceiling guys like Miguel Hiraldo and Orelvis Martinez usually get a bit more love as well.

Honorable mentions: Eduard Pinto, Zach Logue, Cullen Large, Joshua Palacios, Leonardo Jimenez, Samad Taylor, Dominic Abbadessa, DJ Neal, Davis Schneider

RIP Rowdy Tellez, Richard Urena, Hagen Danner, Reese McGuire (actually not having a terrible year)

Hagen Danner is up to .273/.442/.364 with 8 walks and 9 strikeouts. He is considerably better than his pro debut last season. People on the internet have the most absurdly unrealistic expectations for prospects. Not only is he a HS catcher (the longest developmental time of all potential demographics) but he was splitting time as a pitcher in HS as well. Give it more than two seconds LMFAO.

Groshans' contact skills have been better than advertised thus far. Still very early, but a 14% K rate is very respectable for an 18 year old in his first taste of pro ball.

It is encouraging sign, but I think Dunedin is the place for a first real assessment on our hitting prospect.

Did I not post this from Jason Woodell?

4. Jordan Groshans, SS, Rookie

The Jays 2018 1st round pick has huge raw power. He is a big kid with a projectable frame. He doesn’t look 18 and he doesn’t hit like a teenager. His size may move him to 3rd base, where his athleticism plays up. I don’t often pick scouts’ brains on players but when a scout asked me if I had seen him yet and then gushed about him, my ears perk up. Take this with a grain a salt, but this one scout in particular mentioned Jeter several times. From Groshan’s size and his ability to drive the ball to RCF to the way he moves defensively, Groshans is impressive specimen. Quite frankly, I dont think it’s fair to hype any young player with a Jeter comp, but if Groshans is a fraction of Jeter, the Jays got a steal.

I’ve also heard Bo Bichette compared to Jeter. I don’t remember by who, I believe someone from MLB Netork or BA.

And right on time, here's an update on him - as he notes, he's spent more time working on his catching than on his batting, so his progress at the plate is doubly encouraging.

Bichette struggling the past week. Can’t buy a hit.
