Re: Bulls Free Agency - Merged
Bulls might need help on SF spot. Have people thought about trying to catch Kyle Anderson from San Antonio or maybe Marcus Smart from Boston? Both are RFA's. Kyle is not a speedy player, but he is good team player. Can shoot (well, 3 needs work), can steal, nice block numbers for a SF, sure he is slowish, but it doesn't seem to effect his defense. Smart is an a****le, you hate him when he plays against you. Won't say Smart is a good shooter, because he is awful, but again good moving the ball and good defense and just a annoying little piece on the court. Both would help Bulls defense and don't really know would neither be lousier on offense than LaVine. Neither are as good scorers than LaVine, but better on everything else.

Pablo Prigioni came to the NBA at 35, at 38 he helped the rockets make the Western Conference FInals.
If you can find rotation players on minimum deals, you take them.

Re: Bulls Free Agency - Merged
I'm not anxious to bring in a big name free agent during a rebuild, but there are some promising young guards and wings the Bulls could look at.
Edit: The Blazers have at least three unrestricted free agents worth looking at. Shabazz Napier, Pat Connaughton, and Wade Baldwin all showed promise and might be smart pickups on cheap contracts.
Yogi Ferrell is a restricted free agent.
Edit2: Joe Young (Pacers) is unrestricted, he might be worth taking a look at.

I think we should take a flier on Jabari.

Yes but you can get rotation players that are 22-23 instead of 33+ for a rebuilding team....

I'd much rather have Patrick McCaw than Andre Ingram.

Would it be smart to go after smart? Celtics seem to not care about him so he might be available. Good defender, tough, team player and he’s only 24. I say why not? Not a tank move though so I would be very surprised if they went for him. Guessing also one of Hood/Parker are possible targets as well, all restricted so let’s see what happens.

He shot less than 37% from the field every year he has been in the NBA. Not exactly what we are looking for.

And that's in a system that gets people shots.
Though I'm surprised they haven't gone after him. Seems like the next Kirk Hinrich.

Have the Bulls even offered anyone anything? Or even talked to someone?

Does nothing actually being official make it the case that they are sitting on their hands?
In essence, the majority of the league has yet to do anything. Great.
Why so serious?

I'm pretty sure they've reached out to LaVine's reps

Milwaukee would match any reasonable offer. Not worth it.

Eh, who cares. It's not like we're targeting anyone else of note. If they match, they match. Why not take the chance and see what happens?

Re: Bulls Free Agency - Merged
If the Kings offer a big deal to Lavine and we think we could get Jabari off the Bucks for cheaper, I'd probably do that.

Imo, Bulls are doing just what they should be in FA - nothing.
Wait for LaVine. If someone (Kings?) place big offer, north of 17 mil, don't match. Otherwise, he should be only signing/extension.

Because I don't think he is worth it and doesn't play a position of need either. The plan was not blow all of our cap space this Summer. We are already likely taking a risk of LaVine. Two similar risks is too much.

Re: Bulls Free Agency - Merged
I'm concerned we're not even trying to improve. If we let Lavine walk, we'll place all of our bets in Lauri's improvement. If he hits the rookie wall, we'll be in real trouble, with some damn good tank material. There'll be no all-star talent wanting to sign here. Unless, Buckets decides to be our savior with Kyrie!!!
