I was thinking about Zach Lavine yesterday, due to the fact that word has leaked out that they were working on something that has not been hampered by any of the events of the past 72 hours. Therefore my conclusion was a potential sign & trade of a restricted free agent which can't happen until 7/6. IF the first part is accurate then you have to leap to which restricted free agents would be worth the investment and secondly be signed for multiple years (sign & trade players have to be signed for at least two years) that their current team may be interested in making a deal.

Keep in mind we still need wing help and that of a starter. My first guess was Jabari Parker, but his ability to play the wing is in question, coupled with injury history and I quickly moved on, even though Milwaukee signed Ilyasova and may be interested in a deal. Therefore I quickly landed next on Zach Lavine who is a wing and whom Chicago may not be completely sold on if recent reports are to be believed. The Grizz have 13 million in expiring contracts with JAM & B. McLemore; filler could be Devonta Davis or Andrew Harrison. 4 yr 70 million plus contract could easily slot in and become an appealing nucleus of LaVine & JJJ for the present and future.

The NBA season official start is 7/6 and this is also when new extensions kick in for Andrew Wiggins, TJ Warren and Robert Covington.

Andrew Wiggins (that's a lot of money, but if it gets you off of C. Parsons, "scared money don't make none")
TJ Warren (Phoenix now is overloaded with wings and 12 million for your 3rd string SF may be a bit too much)
Robert Covington (unlikely since Philly has whiffed on LeBron, K. Leonard, & PG13)

Good point. I hadn't thought of that. It would help clean up our PF position to move Green.

Green is a good candidate to move along with Davis at this point and time.

Andrew Wiggins makes too much money and is too inconsistent to trust. I tend to lean towards Warren as he is aggressive towards goingto the basket. However he isn't a consistent perimeter shooter. He is a liability in PHX now with Josh Jackson and Mikal Bridges on board the Suns now. If Lavine is to be traded here, I can see Green and BMac going to Chi-town. If Warren were to be traded here, a simple trade of Green and Davis will do just as well.

This thought is viable, but only if Lavine wants out. Then we have to sign a PF, because Jaren is not strong enough to man that position. Based on his recent performance, he would appear to project more as a 3 than a 4. If that is the case, then we try to get Brooks to slim down some, move Jaren to the 3 and we have a pretty solid lineup. The challenges with this are improving his handles and fixing his shot. If he can learn to create a shot for himself, then we have a Durant type talent. If not, we may be in deep crap.

Very interesting observation. One of my co-worker's was watching the first summer league game on Monday and was telling me how 3J was killing it with his performance. It would be very interesting to see him play the SF position. Like yourself, I have questions about him playing the PF or C position with his body weight. I know it's just the beginning of his NBA career. For some reason, like Chris Bosh, I think 3J will have trouble gaining the weight necessary to play 4 or 5 position.

He could mature and develop as a Chris Bosh type big man or if he develops his handles a Kevin Durant type. Shot is real fluky and needs work, but if he can shot a high percentage like that I am not going to complain, but he will get blocked alot of those top of the key shots.

Yeah I think he will be a stretch 5 kind of guy down the line personally but if for some reason he played SF that would be crazy ha. As for his shot, he at least has a fairly quick release. He has a low release point though so we will see how it pans out. I'm worried if we mess with that shot too much it may ruin it and be Fultz-like. The thing I think the staff will work on first is him kicking his leg out sometimes. That can lead to offensive fouls.

Game 3 was a dud for him but I think fatigue may have played a small role in that. He didn't play huge minutes in college and then he just played 3 games in 4 days. Hopefully a good conditioning regiment will help. His post game still needs work but he was able to get himself some good looks at least that should go in once he refines his touch a bit. I'm ready to see him and Brooks in Vegas together.
