Hot take central in here. Lol. Gotta give some of these guys some time. Meanwhile, White from the Spurs looks like a veteran scorer dropping 20 plus. Of course if you go look at his first SL, it was a nightmare. Some of these guys need time. Josh Jackson looked pretty rough last summer but now he is turning it around in the league.

Of course some guys WILL be busts. We know that will happen. Just a little too early to judge them on that.

Don’t really see what Grayson did wrong. Young tried that cheap gimmick foul draw thing, and he weighs as much as a middle school kid. If anyone is gonna try and get physical to make a statement, it shouldn’t be him.

Grayson plowed over him a few minutes before that.

Oh ok. That makes sense. Going off the clip that’s been circulated, just looks like a little skirmish but nothing. I think every time Grayson is involved in anything it’ll be overly dramaticized.

Of course you don’t  Young’s struggles warrant a minute by minute breakdown but it’s totally fine if Bamba struggles... lmao. #MagicFans

Trae Young was hyped to be new Steph Curry. Scrap that- better than Steph because of his allegedly amazing playmaking skills and even better scoring given his age compared to Steph's age when he entered NBA.

Bamba is guy that we all know will be project, guy is super skinny for position and i expect him to be good defender early, but offense is work in progress. I don't expect him to score 30 tonight, were most of you did expect Trae to look like God among mortals in SL where competition at guard positions are G league guys and third string PGs.

Allen will be tough for him today but Bamba is better than him.

Being unbiased. I hated Tyler Hansborough antics.... That being said Grayson has that same smug smile like he knows he's getting into the opponents head. Didn't see anything wrong with Grayson's play. The arm lock was unnecessary.

I don't take much from Summer League, but would be disappointed if we don't dominate defensively. Bamba, Isaac, Birch, Briscoe, Iwundu, Frazier, etc...

I just want to see improvement from Isaac, Iwundu, and Birch. They should be a lot more comfortable this year in the summer league since they have NBA experience now. I'll be a lot more disappointed if they don't play better then if the rookies don't play well.

By who? Who said he’d be better than Steph Curry?

That doesn’t change the fact that we’re willing to give our guy the benefit of the doubt. And you’re exaggerating about Trae again.

Doesn’t matter. Trae isn’t on our team so I don’t really care. I’m stoked to see what bamba and Isaac look like sharing the court together.

I’d be worried about Bagley if I’m a Kings fan. No right hand, bad jumper, and he’s undersized. Good luck with that. Faried vibes

Just open Trea Young thread here and enjoy - as answer who called him better than Curry.
ESPN had "Young tracker " during college game.
Hype was crazy.

Why I would give Bamba benefit of a doubt ? because unlike Young , who SUCKED hard for half of the college season ,especially at the end, Bamba's highs were not that great but his lows were not - " not worth keeping in rotation " level bad - like Young's are.

Young shot 36% FG at end of college season, now he shoots 23% FG in 3 SL games.

Overreaction ?

It's hard to predict how the players will adapt in the NBA, I don't think anyone should fee bad about thinking Young was going to be a star. I think it would be a lot worse if we did pick him and would have to defend him everyday.

Fantastic prospect with some concerns (athleticism, mainly) but will likely make a lot of teams look foolish for passing on him.

His teammates were terrible but he still remained unselfish, especially for such a highly touted young player.

He's 19 years old (remember that) and he already has unlimited range and a high basketball IQ. His game will likely be elevated playing alongside NBA talent.

The kid is the first player in NCAA history to lead the nation in both scoring AND assist as a FRESHMAN with 28 and 8 and we are questioning if he can play?

Some of you really need to up the doses of your meds.

Also - guys like Young with a super high offensive IQ typically know the moves of the guys they are guarding. That's why small guys like Curry and CP3 can be a pain on defense because they know what you're doing with the ball and can jump into passing lanes before the lanes open up.

I can find more but i'm going out so i can watch world cup now, SL later.

btw

Right, you were talking about people here on this board though. I still don’t see the levels of hyperbole you are referencing.

Regardless, I will never understand your obsessive quest to constantly try and be right about players and then post incessantly about a guy in a negative manner after every game he plays. Just seems a bit zany to me.

I agree. I liked Young, but I also liked JJj and other guys too. The only guys I really did not want was WCJ or Sexton, but I will not celebrate about it if they don’t do well. More focused on seeing our young guys develop personally.
