For once, I actually agree with KC.

What momentum is he referring to? We got worse as the year went on.

Bingo. If anything the team needs to get worse and bottom out this year. **** happens, you traded for a guy that sucks and is now massively overpaid.

Correct course, and move on. There's no reason to tie yourself down to a rigid, linear process here. For once I agree that the oft cited "flexibility" is a good goal.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

I’d consider it if he was at least a good one way player.

I can’t wait until two years from now when the trade board spends its time debating how many picks they’d require to take on Lavine’s bad contract.

The Bulls better not do that. Trading FRPs to dump bad contracts should get a GM fired.

I hope they let him go. I’m not convinced the Bulls can’t get 80% of Lavine from Kilpatrick.

The Bulls will match and I'm fine with it. Derozan 2.0 will prove to be worth even more than that in a year or 2

Bulls will be matching. If they don't I'll be surprise. Rodney Hood is a player we will go after if we don't match.

Zach LaVine had more missed shots (219) last season than assists, rebounds, steals, and blocks combined (194).

No thank you
I'm not here to argue.

Having Zach Lavine making 20 million bucks a year is what leads to needing first round picks to dump contracts. Cut rate Carmelo Anthonys aren’t the key to winning. Especially if you pay them like full blooded Carmelo Anthonys.

In that case i hope we do match. Maybe this will finally be the last straw for GarPax.

I'm done here.

How is this bloated exactly? If the Bulls were looking to sign Lavine for $18 mil, what's the difference?

I had prepared a long response detailing exactly why it is a bloated contract offer that literally no one but Sacramento would offer, but I thing I came up with something more simple and succinct.

When dealing with NBA personnel moves, do the opposite of Vlade Divac. Every time.

We're matching, KC basically just told us as much.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

In a league where ryan anderson, loul deng, allen crabbe, joakim noah and tim hardaway jr are getting 17-20 mil annually

You guys really think it's bad to pay a 23 year old who has a better skillset than any of these players this money?

I said that Zach wouldn't get an offer this high. I was wrong. Props to those who disagreed.

Of course, I wouldn't match. But I do not run the Bulls.

There was more to the trade than just Butler for LaVine. The Bulls got a higher draft pick, another young player in Dunn and it also put them on the path to rebuild. Keeping Butler meant they'd compete again for the 8th seed and they needed to move on from that.

we're signing the Calcutta beggar version of Carmelo Anthony.
